Biafraland national women leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mrs. Ukamaka Ejezie, aka "Mama Biafra" on Thursday 6th September 2018, paid a solidarity visit to the Ebonyi State women chapter following the illegal arrest and detention of some IPOB women from the state in Owerri. The ordeal took place on Friday 17th of August 2018 during the last peaceful protest organized against the spate of injustices meted on Biafrans by the Islamic government of Nigeria. They also placed a demand for the whereabouts of the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his aged parents who have been missing since the murderous invasion of their home by a contingent of the Nigerian army at Afara-ukwu Ibeku in Umuahia, Abia State since the 14th of September 2017.
The meeting which attracted a massive turn out of IPOB women from across the state including the State IPOB women leader, Evangelist Mrs. Chioma Iwuala and women leaders of three senatorial districts, was held at Abakiliki, the Ebonyi State capital.
In her address, 'Mama Biafra' appreciated the encouraging efforts and the doggedness of the Ebonyi State IPOB women and urged them to strengthen their evangelical outreach programs within the market places, motor parks and their neighborhoods. "You need to go for evangelism, in motor parks, marketplaces and also carry it out on individual bases to your friends and relatives. Our people need to be duly informed".
She eulogised the courage of the women from the state amongst those arrested and detained in Owerri, Imo State, by the Nigerian Police. She strongly condemned the dastardly act of the Nigerian Police saying that "it is barbaric and evil to arrest and detain innocent women, subjecting them to atrocious treatments like they did". The IPOB National Women Leader further enjoined the women to remain resolute and undeterred because the Biafra restoration remains sacrosanct. According to her, "the nation of Biafra must be restored by all available means".
In her speech, the Ebonyi State IPOB women leader, Evangelist Mrs. Chioma Iwuala gave appreciation to 'Mama Biafra' and all others who brushed aside their personal engagements to grace the occasion.
Deliberations of the meeting centred on the best ways to galvanise Ebonyi people to duly comply with the forthcoming Biafra General Strike Action billed for Friday 14th September 2018, as ordered by the leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) globally. This is to remember and mourn our brethren who were killed by the Nigerian army during the evil military expedition tagged Operation Python Dance launched to scuttle the Biafra restoration struggle ably championed by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The women took out some time to pray for the missing IPOB leader and his aged parents. They also prayed for the repose of the souls of the murdered Biafrans and for the upcoming strike action.
