FAMILY WRITERS PRESS EDITORIAL: MISSION OF THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF BIAFRA (IPOB)
"It is Biafra or nothing"! This is a common reverberating statement made by the family members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) globally, led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. It remains the core mission statement commonly made by hardcore IPOB family members with unrepentant sagacity. IPOB, despite series of heinous brutalisation of it's members, proscription of it's activities and the criminal it's tagging as a terrorist organization by the Nigerian Islamic government, has courageously remained defiant and resolute in driving the Biafra restoration project.
This is meant to totally liberate the most victimized, molested, impoverished, marginalized and killed indigenous people in Nigeria in the 21st century. Right from inception, IPOB has consistently remained peaceful and has garnered for itself, unparalleled fame as the most civilized, peaceful, enlightened and organized indigenous freedom movement globally. And of course, that encouraging commendation of respect to men of integrity which the leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB core leadership and family members across the world, has garnered by carving out a niche to ensure that Biafra identity, proclamation of diverse human activities exerted on them are not just known but discussed and relived in the consciousness of civilized men globally.
The subjugations, atrocious acts of enslavement and misery meted on Biafrans by the Nigerian government before, during and after the Nigeria/Biafra war between 1967 and 1970, that triggered off the birth of this divinely orchestrated movement known as the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) yet exist. IPOB came on board to optimistically embolden it's mission of completely abating the grievous sufferings and killings of the people through the following:
* To reclaim our lands forcefully taken away during the 1914 amalgamation by the British imperialists through Frederick Lugard.
* To protect the Biafran people against the Fulani killer herdsmen and their Boko Haram terrorist counterparts.
* To create an enabling environment for job opportunities/employments. Biafrans are daily being subjected to slavery, impoverishment and misery within the Nigerian contraption and elsewhere, scanning for greener pastures.
* To make provision for the security of lives and properties against external invaders as well as making adequately available, relevant social amenities needed by the people to stimulate and develop technologically and educationally across Biafraland, much endowed with enormous natural resources that can abundantly take care of the entire African continent.
Besides the above mentioned, the functionality of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is premised on non-political characteristics. It's mission as earlier stated, focus solely on the priceless restoration of the sovereignty of Biafra which must never be tainted by the corruption indices of the Nigerian polity. IPOB has clinically distanced itself from lending any form of support to Nigerian politicians or government, be it at the local, state or national level. Transparently, the movement has painstakingly and intelligently exposed and yet exposing the perpetrators of evil and wickedness without taking sides with any political party, groups or individuals whose actions and intents are devilish.
This position has never been comfortable with the apostles of injustice and messengers of death, hence the relentless vilification, victimization and killings carried out against the organization, it's leadership and family members by the Nigerian government through the instrumentality of the Islamisation agenda of the Fulani caliphate and it's cabals in Aso Rock. The drive for the actualisation of this satanic agenda has heightened in virtually all the regions and unless something potently drastic is done to contain and defeat it, the reality of this evil is well here with us. IPOB has remained stoutly unshakable with the truth of what transpired in the past, presently happening and the predictions of what will befall Nigeria.
The blame of the prevalent Fulani herdsmen killings should be harped on who, IPOB or the Nigerian presidency? It is however unfortunate that all the deceits of impostorous Islamic government of Nigeria still trades on bullying and holding down the gullible into losing sight of the circulative thrills of the Islamic agenda.
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), possesses another sterling quality which is peace. Despite myriads of provocations and murderous actions meted against unarmed, innocent Biafrans by the Nigerian armed forces, IPOB has maintained high degree of discipline and maturity. The Nigerian armed forces have on several occasions, chatted the course for chaos through the unprovoked killings of IPOB family members since the commencement of Biafra agitation. Among those unforgettable memories is the gruesome killing of peaceful and unarmed agitators at Onitsha head bridge in 2016 protesting against the illegal arrest of the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu which took place on the 14th of October 2015. Another, is the Catholic Church mayhem at Nkpor during Biafra Memorial Day, the Igweocha killings, the death brought upon the people as a result of "Operation Python Dance II" in Umuahia, Abia State. In the midst of all these, IPOB never retaliated in whatever form thereby remaining steadfast to the guiding principles of the United Nations charter.
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has equally gone beyond just agitating for Biafra restoration through it's hospitality approach. It has at all times, identified and shown sympathy across board with the imprisoned, handicapped and bereaved Biafrans arising from the brutality of the Nigerian security forces. As a financially independent organisation whose incomes are internally generated, the organization has single-handedly sponsored some financially indisposed members in respect of the struggle. IPOB remains the most disciplined, truthful, trusted, dependable and uncompromising Biafra restoration movement of our time. Big shame to the governors and political leaders of both the South-East and South-South regions who monitize their gains at the detriment of the lives and well being of their own people.
Today, the most talked about Fulani conquest drive is ravaging the entire spectrum of the evil British colony called Nigeria with virtually nobody standing in defiant opposition. It is no longer about Mazi Nnamdi Kanu or IPOB but the venomous killings of a catholic priest amongst others. The entire Biafraland is presently fulanised with herdsmen killers on rampage. Yet the governors were not ashamed to orchestrate the proscription of an armless, harmless, peaceful indigenous mass movement criminally tagged a terrorist organization. The politicians however, lack the clout to call indigenous people a terror group if really the meaning of the word "indigenous", is well understood. This is because even the uneducated knows what it means to be indigenous which encompasses even the governors themselves amongst other politicians at local, state and national levels. Indigenous in this context, includes all those that originated and sponsored the law of the proscription against the just, innocent people rightly advocating self-determination.
It is therefore shameful and a curse to be associated with a country or group of persons which forbid legitimate agitations, priding themselves with despotism, diverse military molestations and killings. The recent illegal proscription of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) despite the genocidal orgy of government sponsored violence meted out against them in 2015 with thousands of Shiites killed, their leader, Sheik Ibrahim El-ZakZaky and wife detained, mark yet another act of impunity by the Nigerian government. This was being perpetrated against them (Shiites) simply because they are Hausa Muslims with religious ties with Iran against the Sunni Islamists who are Fulani foreigners that have religious relationship with Saudi Arabia. This position of the Nigerian government totally negates the principle of human rights that have to do with rights of expression and wilful association. The Shiite Islamic sect was slammed with proscription and tagged a terrorist group. And yet Nigerian administrators pride themselves as democrats?
The same fate befell IPOB in Nigeria which on September 20th 2017, grossly compromised Justice Kafarati of Federal High Court in Abuja, secretly and shamelessly, through the backdoor, proscribed it with a terrorist tag. This followed the deadly and most heinous military onslaught in modern history against an unarmed freedom fighter. It was murderously staged through a military expedition code named "Operation Python Dance II", which nearly claimed the lives of the IPOB leader himself and his parents. Although more than 28 able bodied Biafrans were killed and properties worth fortunes wantonly destroyed. Nigerian army batallions criminally invaded the residential compound of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu at Afara-Ukwu Ibeku community in Umuahia, Abia State in Biafraland, on 14th September 2017.
The whereabouts of the parents of the IPOB leader, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Eze Israel Okwu-Kanu and his wife Ugoeze, are still unknown till date. Yet the same Nigerian government that ordered the military to kill, maim, destroy IPOB family members and Shia Islamic Sect still give protection to the Fulani killer herdsmen (terrorists), the world's fourth most deadliest terror group, who are brazenly ravaging communities with AK47 assault rifles, destroying farmlands with their cattle, raping women and killing indigenous land owners without arrest, prosecution or proscription. It is obviously clear that the Islamic agenda to overrun the country with jihadi conquest is certain. The indigenous population should not trifle with the ongoing development especially Biafrans both resident at home and in the diaspora. Islamisation is indeed a stark reality and needs to be urgently checkmated. The specified mission of the IPOB as touched herein must be supported for the unfettered liberation of the land from the trappings of darkness that seems to have been covering the light of Biafran people over the years.
