TERRORISM WATCH: NIGERIAN ARMY RIGHTLY DESERVES "TERRORIST ORGANIZATION" DESIGNATE

TERRORISM WATCH: NIGERIAN ARMY RIGHTLY DESERVES "TERRORIST ORGANIZATION" DESIGNATE

The murderous antecedents of the Nigerian army and other armed sister security agencies against the law abiding Biafran citizens, suitably earn them a designate tag of a "TERRORIST ORGANIZATION" by the international community. The occupational government of Nigeria with the instrumentality of the security agencies have been on military expedition across a relatively peaceful Biafraland commonly  referred to as "South-East" of the country. Their mission revolves round unprovoked/relentless abduction, torture, incarceration, extortion and killing of unarmed, innocent Biafran citizens. It therefore becomes necessary that the civilised international community suitably and officially designate them according to their characteristics. It unfortunately beats the imagination of the people that even when the world is fully aware with the periodic reports associated with the heinous crimes being committed against humanity across Biafraland by the Nigerian army through Amnesty International, nothing tangible seems to have been done till date. If therefore the international community is realistically working with particular reference to the continuing atrocities being committed against innocent Biafran citizens/Christian communities within Biafraland, the Nigerian army which is steadily being officially sponsored by the Nigerian government, ought to have before now, been designated a "terrorist organization".

However, it is hopeful that with the current alertness of the United States of America which has beamed her searchlight on the ongoing atrocities being committed in Nigeria, Biafrans could be expectant of American information centres being proactively located across the country. Nigeria it should be recalled, has just been placed on "Special Watch List" of nations for perpetrating and tolerating religious persecution and killing. The US government back home needs be regularly updated with relevant information on the heinous crimes being committed by the Nigerian army at various needless military checkpoints and notorious roadblocks that litter every nook and cranny of Biafraland. Military checkpoints within Biafran territories particularly in Rivers, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, Delta and Bayelsa States have become abattoirs where Biafran youths are kidnapped and secretly killed. Road users are helplessly gnashing their teeth due to high rate of extortion being perpetrated by the officers and men of the Nigerian armed forces especially the Nigerian army. They lay siege at will on Biafra territories through unwarranted roadblocks and illegal checkpoints.

It has become unbearably necessary to really find out when the international community, in the face of these illegalities and atrocities, will deem it suitable to designate the Nigerian army as a terrorist organization if not now? Has the Nigerian army not terrorized and killed enough, even surpassing ISIS? If the Embassy of the United States of America situated in both Lagos and Abuja and coupled with American information centres across Nigeria are appropriately reporting feedback about the happenings in Nigeria back home, the US government by now, would not only just have placed Nigeria on the Special Watch List of nations but would have outrightly given the deserving designate to the Nigerian security forces (army and police). A visit to the records and other relevant documentaries of Intersociety Human Rights Organization in Nigeria, will give tacit conviction to the organized international community pertaining the heinous crimes committed in Nigeria. The Nigerian army and police force may have killed more Biafran youths than what is on record against Boko Haram terrorists and Fulani killer herdsmen put together, between 2015 and 2019. These security agencies have zero regards for the sanctity of lives while recklessly wasting law abiding, unarmed Biafran citizens.

If therefore there is anything that will to an appreciable extent, arrest the prevalent menace of the terrorism related activities of the Nigerian army and police at the moment, it should be their outright designation as terrorist organization. They are known for their disgusting acts of criminality against humanity. This spate of maladious enterprise has to be tamed and imminently too.
