Covid-19: Nnamdi Kanu's Broadcasts Embolden the Nigerian Media into Stating the Obvious

Covid-19: Nnamdi Kanu's Broadcasts Embolden the Nigerian Media into Stating the Obvious

The globally listened live broadcasts of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu on Radio Biafra, is a testimony that millions are increasingly becoming aware of developments in Nigeria. The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), had on Wednesday 1st and Sunday 5th April 2020 respectively, harped on the growing Nigerian government's insensitivity regarding the well-being of the citizenry due to hydra-corruption indices. Some media houses have been spurred into writing and publishing the obvious especially as it relates to the coronavirus scourge presently reported in Nigeria.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, in his wisdom and concern for the well-being of the people, had recently, announced in the wake of this deadly disease, a whooping sum of N300 million contingency budget out of which N50 million has already been released for medical assistance to Biafrans particularly at home. Selected hospitals within Biafraland would be adequately equipped with facilities and relevant drugs for the prompt/effective treatment of emergencies. Crack medical volunteer professionals have equally been assembled across Biafraland for this purpose.

Under the present Nigeria government, there exists spate of dilapidated/substandard and pitiable hospitals that dot the country, the acclaimed "giant of Africa", with the poor masses living at the mercy of curable diseases and avoidable deaths arising therefrom.  The live broadcasts of the IPOB leader pertaining the ills in the Nigerian state, have very tremendously rattled the Nigerian political leadership in search of possible succor to the prevailing health challenges in the country amongst others. His courageous and highly intelligent live Radio Biafra broadcasts have unarguably become the revolutionary needed tunic in Nigeria.

One of the Nigerian frontline National dailies, Daily Trust, of Monday 6th April 2020, gave analytical exposé of the grossly unfortunate insensitivity and corruption of the Buhari led federal government which has hampered the establishment/equipment of existing hospitals/clinics to standard.  The Newspaper publication gave detailed revelation of a non-existence State House Clinic that has gulped a colossal amount of N13.59 billion between 2015 and 2020. The "Unfit" State House Clinic was meant to treat top government officials in Aso Rock and by extension, their families.  But to further confirm the corruption indices and political intrigues associated with this government, dignitaries including President Muhammadu Buhari , pleasurably globe-throttle on medical tourisms. The ravaging coronavirus pandemic has totally thrown up the insincerity and lack of transparency of the Nigerian government. The seriously infected chief of staff to the President, Alhaji Abba Kyari amongst others, which cannot be treated anywhere in Nigeria due to the existing substandard, poor medical facilities and unavailability of reagents, are exemplified case scenarios. Nigeria is now in a panic mood as the presidency seems helpless combating and containing the spread of this contagious coronavirus.

Covid-19 is really a blessing in disguise in Nigeria as the global community has fully come to terms with all that the Nigerian government has been working so hard to conceal against the wellbeing of the suffering masses. Some of the Nigerian media houses that have all this while, been economical with the truth, are presently being emboldened to courageously state the obvious via their publications against the impunity of the Nigerian government. The IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has truly set the ball rolling by consistently bringing to the knowledge of millions of all who care to listen all over the world, the prevalent situations in Nigeria.

  1. Nigeria was founded out of lies and nothing good will ever come from that so called country. I only wish that my fellow people of Biafra land would understand that the earlier we unit so that we can break away from this madness the better for us and our children and those yet unborn. If we act now at least we could still get some few years out of our live to enjoy as Biafrans if not we might all age and have nothing to show for it in the state called nigeria, yes nigeria.
