Attack On Rivers State SARS Operatives In Obigbo And The False Allegation Against IPOB

Attack On Rivers State SARS Operatives In Obigbo And The False Allegation Against IPOB

An officer of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), was  killed in an attack carried out on Wednesday 30th September 2020, by unknown gunmen. Other SARS personnel were equally left seriously wounded in their office in Obigbo, Obigbo local government area of Rivers State. In their usual ways, the police authorities without thoroughly carrying out detailed investigations, were quick to embark on fictitious propaganda drive against members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as being the assailants. The police further stated that the attack was connected to the "Sit-At-Home" order given by the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, against Nigeria 60th Independence Anniversary of Thursday 1st October, 2020.

THE TRUTH

1) The mayhem was carried out at about 9:30pm on Wednesday 30th September 2020 and not Thursday 1st October 2020 during the "Sit-At--Home" exercise. There was absolutely no way unarmed IPOB members who were preparing to observe a Sit-At-Home, could  launch an attack on rountinely armed SARS operatives.

2) There certainly was no any form of protest by IPOB on the very day and time the incident occurred that would wsrrant any sane being to issue out such a malicious, unsubstantiated and incriminating statement.

3) IPOB as at today is well recognized by governments of the world, are completely armless and peaceful, and only carries out it's agitations as a crowd with flags, while the assailants are armed. This claim of the Nigerian police is yet another plot being floated to either arrest or kill enmass, peace loving Biafrans. Otherwise, there serves no just and definite purpose why a supposedly professional institution even in this 21st century, would want to deceive the world by jumping into conclusion without thorough investigations that IPOB perpetrated the act.

This antecedent has become so regrettable pronounced when the same Rivers State Police Command tyrannically subjected Mr. Chima Ikwunado, an automobile mechanic and four others to extra-judicial torture, a development that eventually led to the death of Chima. The Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Nnamdi Omoni had hurriedly and deceitfully claimed that sugar-related blood disease in the system of the deceased automobile mechanic, was what led to his death. But he was shamefully proved wrong by the autopsy report that was obtained afterwards.

Just recently, an Igboman was gruesomely murdered by Fulani criminals quartered in a settlement in Obigbo. The same Nigerian police that is always albeit mischievously, laying blames, accuse and arrest residents in a hurry without proper investigation, blatantly ignored the matter because  the deceased is not a Fulani but an "Igboman". This morbid mindset and institutionalized hatred serve as the reason why the Nigerian police officers are bereft of thoroughness in their investigations.

Obviously, it is noteworthy to pointedly state through this medium that it is totally fallacious and unfounded for the police to accuse IPOB of orchestrating that mayhem that occurred in SARS office in Obigbo. It is yet another sinister agenda being assemblied together to carry out an unjust clampdown on IPOB Family members. The movement remains unarmed, peaceful and non-violent until a contrary order is given by it's leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The Nigerian police and other security agencies should dutifully face their problems and desist from looking for avenues to violently engage IPOB.
