Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the former Nigeeian Pesident before Muhammadu Buhari, was not incompetent. He only lacked couraget to presecute somethings. Some have argued that he was hand picked by Olusegun Obasanjo. The fractured and broken federation he inherited required courage to deal with. Despite his many lapses, he did some good and very commendable things. His good can be understood in a way that one million is different to one when juxtaposed with Buhari. Many have impressed and others were under-whelmed in leadership. Regrettably, and in sharp contrast to Goodluck Jonathan, Buhari woefully falis in the last category.
Despite his questionable army recruitment, his genocidal role against unarmed Biafrans during the war and bigoted tribalism, Buhari was unable to improve himself after he was ousted as Head of State in 1983. This was used as a launching pad by his critics and rightfully so. His poor attitude, support for Sharia and use of sophistry meant he had a Messianic following from the less developed lot that found him a role model.
The anti-sharia coup of January 15, 1966, looking back, was justified and it's failure was deeply regrettable. The pogrom and pro-sharia coup of July 29, 1966, was the first on the roadmap to where we are today. The emergence of Shagari and Ekwueme, the tolerance of Shonekan after the murder of Abiola and the 1999 hurried handover of Abdusalami Abubakar, were distractions allowed for lack of boldness for full Sharia implementation. The coming of Goodluck Jonathan almost truncated that movement and this is one of the many points that prove the control of divinity over the affairs of men.
It was Obasanjo's constitutional betrayal that dealt a heavy blow to the secularity of Nigeria and advanced in no small measure, the Sharia movement. Obasanjo unilaterally imposed Umaru Yar'dua and Goodluck Jonathan on the people. The Sharia movement was a precursor to Boko Haram.
It is my believe that Obasanjo was outwitted by the Muslim North. I have always questioned the sincerity of Musa Yar'dua regardless of what everyone thinks. Here is what I think: Musa Yar’dua was a gentleman to the extent that he was not a hindrance to Sharia movement. He therefore, had a secret pact with his comrades. They hatched a plan. The granting of amnesty to oil community militants across the Niger Delta, was part of the plan. The idea was to eradicate arms from oil rich communities as allowing such, would entrench resistance to their jihadi movement to the Atlantic. The extrajudicial killing of Mohammed Yusuf, the founder of Boko Haram, under his administration was part of the plan. Mohammed Yusuf sacrificed his life on purpose. This would allow for the use of violence in the event that Yar’dua died and Jonathan emerged. It was a well choreographed and orchestrated plan beyond the scope of this article.
The second coming of Buhari as President was a total disappointment. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, disclosed that Buhari passed on January 27, 2017. To prevent a repeat of the Jonathan phenomenon, the Fulani cabal used a combination of deepfake (artificial intelligence), mask wearing and doppelganger to deceive the gullible public. Mazi Kanu has used evidence to show that whoever is in Aso Rock Villa is not Mr. Buhari. Evidence beyond reasonable doubt.
With 2023 fast approaching and with the intention for full Sharia implementation, the final onslaught is predictable. The inevitability of a coup is a direct relation to solving the Aso Rock occupant problem. It would be seen that the only plausible path to victory is a coup to usher in a stooge. Strings will be pulled from behind the scene to install a full fledged terrorist like Sheikh Gumi after the military have been used to totally subdue southern Nigeria. The only problem now is how to carry out the task without given themselves out easily. That is where lackeys like Robert Clarke comes in. At his age, he is in the know that coups have been worse and have brought us to where are today. So, he was reading a script and should not be taking seriously. Whenever he corrects himself and calls for a revolution, we shall take him serious.
On a final note, there is a big difference between the previous coups and any coup in this era. The self-determination movement championed by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the formation of Eastern Security Network (ESN), mean that coup will no longer be business as usual. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, through his consistent broadcast, has opened the eyes of everyone. Agitations are now in every region of the British contraption and any putsch will lead to the people's bloody revolution. There will be accountability for any coup in this self-determination era. This is not hard to dictate.
