WE WANT UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE OF OUR LEADER NNAMDI KANU- NIGER DELTA AVENGERS

WE WANT UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE OF OUR LEADER NNAMDI KANU- NIGER DELTA AVENGERS

By Chijioke Ifeanyi

While on their list, the seventh condition to stop destruction of pipelines and oil installations is ‘immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu’. There is no more doubt that Ijaw. Urhobo. Isoko, Anioma etc are integral part of Biafra and they have formally declared to fight for their nation Biafra. Asari Dokubo is the frontline campaigner for the release and actualization of the sovereign state of Biafra and Niger Delta Avengers cannot exist without the blessing of former warlords. Tompolo, Ateke Tom, and Asari Dokubo pioneered this militancy and as emeritus, they will forever remain influential.

There is no doubt that once their leader is released to them, he the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra will have a direct influence and call for an end to destruction of oil facilities. One truth that cannot be disputed is the fact that the renewed hostility across the Niger part of Biafra is due to the agitation for the release of Kanu and actualization of Biafra. There might be a media campaign to change the focus to declaration of Niger Delta republic which is a mirage and a means to score cheap point and resurrect the dead divide and rule strategy.

“Niger Delta republic is not an issue and can never be an issue because we have all come to the realization that it is an impossible thing. We have Biafra as a golden platform to achieve everything we want; we are not on a collision course with our brothers. A common Igbo speaking Biafran needs just a market and good economical policies and he would thrive. We are not bothered over our resources because Anambra have oil, Imo have oil, Enugu has coal, Abakiliki has lime-stone. Nobody will exploit anyone; nobody will disturb anyone because we are all blessed with natural resources. Fighting for Biafra is what we need to take full control and assume ownership of our resources. Biafra restoration is already here and it is a better avenue for us to take what belongs to us” A top militant commander who spoke to Ifeanyi Chijioke on the condition anonymity said. Citing that there are limitations to what can be made public.

While there have not been a direct declaration that the Niger Delta Avenger is fighting for the restoration of Biafra, an indigene of Delta who simply gave his name as Osiobe for security reasons said “This Niger Delta Avenger is being cautious as not to fully involve their selves in IPOB to avoid tagging IPOB a terrorist organization or militant organization. There must be some way to come into the system and this is why you see news mention Niger Delta republic, they are signaling to us that they want freedom and Biafra is the freedom they want. IPOB is a non-violent people and you don’t expect them to say they are IPOB or that they are fighting for Biafra. That will entirely make Biafra violent, so they really need a cover and that cover is what you see today. The people are in support of them because of their conditions as listed and the people are no longer interested in Niger Delta republic but Biafra”

There is now a media campaign aimed at Biafra, the end of the battle is nigh and there is now an intense approach. While Sun Newspaper is the platform for the battle, working in tandem with the enemies, there is need for Biafra to also up assault. Speaking to Ifeanyi Chijioke , OKE EBETA spokesman for Isoko  said. “ This is a welcome development, we cannot be suffering in the creeks, experiencing highest environmental pollution, unable to farm and yet people from the North come here, own oil blocks and steal millions of Naira, we cannot continue to exist in Nigeria. There are many ways to kill a rat and what is in the news is not our concern, our concern is hence the news says ‘no’ to Nigeria. We are going in same direction, if NDA choose to go with Niger Delta instead of our Biafra, then so be it hence we are all Biafra. Is not Ijaw thing or Isoko thing, this is a Biafra thing. If answering Niger Delta will make NDA fight for the release of our director, they should please do. What we want is for our director to be released and Biafra to be restored. Talk to Niger Delta Avenger of Biafra and they will welcome you, give you food and give you protection” he explicitly said.

There seems to be misinterpretation on what is on ground and what NDA want, if they fight for Nnamdi Kanu as their leader and also bring in Niger Delta, it becomes an issue of two on the same path. Speaking on the development, a Kwalle leader who pleaded anonymity said “there is nothing to be afraid of, NDA is the people’s prayer, their conditions or reasons they fight is well accepted, we want them to continue and the major demand therein is for Nnamdi Kanu to be released to them. If Nnamdi Kanu is released, they will stop this bombing because Nnamdi Kanu will talk to them and they will hear. We are all Biafra and we don’t want Niger Delta republic any more. Biafra is a better chance and the newspaper that said NDA declared Niger Delta republic is just a desperate newspaper. They NDA might say a thing like that to give a balance to arm struggle which is seriously needed in Biafra restoration but as you read, they did not include that in their demands. IPOB said no to arm struggle which makes it hard for NDA to fully get involved, and if Niger Delta republic will give them opportunity to come in. it is a welcomed development and I advise them to prioritize the release of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra and for the restoration of Biafra” he concluded
