BIAFRA: FREEDOM IS ALL WE DEMAND.

FREEDOM IS ALL WE DEMAND.

By Ekwenye Samuel Chukwunweike
For Family Writers

Self-determination is a cardinal principle in modern international law (commonly regarded as a just cogent rule), binding, as such, on the United Nations as authoritative interpretation of the Charter’s norms. It states that nations, based on respect for the principle of equal rights and equality of opportunity, have the right to freely choose their sovereignty and international political status with no interference.  It states, I quote, "National aspirations must be respected; people may now be dominated and governed only by their own consent. Self determination is not a mere phrase; it is an imperative principle of action. .

“This principle can be traced to the Atlantic Charter, signed on 14 August 1941, by Franklin D. Roosevelt , President of the United States of America, and Winston Churchill, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, who pledged The Eight Principal points of the Charter.  It is also derived from principles espoused by President Woodrow Wilson following World War I, after which some new nation states were formed, or previous states were revived after the dissolution of empires. Such principle was approved by United Nation Assembly in 1914, when they introduced the right for the independent and of the countries under colonisation.

Moreover, I can't make out, create or manufacture any reason why Nnamdi Kanu is still kept in detention by tyrant Buhari.  Ever since the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu in October last year, he has been in the Nigeria DSS detention under Muhammadu Buhari despite several court rulings that had granted him unconditional release.

When will this tyranny and ear itching things ever cease in this country. Since Boko Haram terrorists came to existence, many innocent people have been killed. Many of these terrorists were arrested and held in detention by the security operatives, but since Buhari assumed office, many of these terrorists have been released.

Who will stand to speak for Biafra?  Just on 12th of this month September 2016, a notorious boko haram terrorist by name Malam Kabiru Abubakar who was captured and held in detention was released by Buhari despite being sentenced to life imprisonment by court. This same man was the one that engineered the killing of over 50 people in Mandella church near Abuja. Biafrans had really gone crazy because things had really gone beyond what we can swallow. Nnamdi Kanu has been held for just speaking the truth and requesting for the freedom of his people (self determination), for how long shall his rights be neglected?
September 26 is another day scheduled for court hearing, who knows what is going to happen on that day: Will the court case be postponed? Whichever that happens, we are alerting the world to keep record. Nnamdi Kanu is not a terrorist, why should he be detained illegally.

FREEDOM FOR NNAMDI KANU,

FREEDOM FOR BIAFRA is our quest.  We are not terrorists.
