Nigeria:  Donald Trump Ignores Buhari’s congratulatory message, responds other world leaders

Washington - Signs that Nigeria may have it rough under US President-elect Donald Trump have begun to manifest.

Trump has snubbed President Muhammadu Buhari by not reciprocating Buhari's congratulatory message to him.

Trump had within the first 24 hours of his victory called some leaders of other countries.

Buhari was among the first world leaders that congratulated Trump on his victory in Wednesday's presidential election.

Buhari in his message said he looks forward to working together with Trump to strengthen the already established friendly relations between both countries, including cooperation on many shared foreign policy priorities, such as the fight against terrorism, peace and security, economic growth, democracy and good governance.

But while Trump has responded to the messages of other world leaders, he has failed to acknowledge Buhari's gesture.

Some of the world leaders Trump has spoken to since he won the US presidential election are -

President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt

Prime Minister Enda Kenny of Ireland

President Enrique Peña Nieto of Mexico

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey

Prime Minster Narendra Modi of India

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull of Australia

President Park Geun-hye of South Korea

British Prime Minister Theresa May
