'There Is No Nigerian In Nigeria'

'There Is No Nigerian In Nigeria'

Written By Ibeh Gift Amarachi, For Family Writers Press.

In Nigeria, there are heterogeneous nations with  linguistic plurality, which concurs to Frederick Lugard's ideology, which stated that the forced "nations are like water and oil, which can not be mixed together".

If the past and present leaders of Nigeria are the sons of Futa Jalon in today's Guinea, who then is a Nigerian?
If the Westerners are sons of Oduduwa, and the people of old Eastern region are Biafrans, who then is a Nigerian?

I have seen individuals ignorantly preach for a united Nigeria and have found it very preponderant to educate them, because they are devoid of historical facts.
But would one cast stones on them, whence the Nigeria Government has made education expensive for the poor masses and is engineering an extermination of  historical studies from the course outlines of those who could afford formal education?

If Nigeria has been in existence, why the amalgamation?
Amalgamation is the process whereby heterogeneous entities are brought together to form a larger entity.
Those nations that were forced by the British Government to form the heterogeneous entity called Nigeria are naturally from their Indigenous origin; hence, there is nothing like a Nigerian who fits into the same category of origin such as an  English, Welsh or French.

In the same vein, one can rightly say that Yorubas/Oduduwas are not Nigerians.
This is why it is astonishing that a supposed learned Professor like Yemi Osibanjo,  Nigeria's Vice President, in conjunction with other Ijebu elites, could boldly make fallacious assertions by calling themselves Nigerians.
May I remind them that, a man named Chief Obafemi Awolowo who was the father of politics of Oduduwa stated thus:
"Nigeria is not a nation. It is a mere geographical expression. There are no 'Nigerians' in the same sense as there are 'English,' 'Welsh,' or 'French.' The word 'Nigerian' is merely a distinctive appellation to distinguish those who live within the boundaries of Nigeria and those who do not".

Now if Chief Obafemi Awolowo, born before the amalgamation of Nigeria has full knowledge of this fact, who then is a Nigerian amongst the present day Yoruba people?

Some Yorubas who are presently found in the Western part of today's Nigeria, were not of Yoruba descent until the British colonialists incorporated them into that identity.
It will surprise you to know that, those in Ekiti State does not fully understand Yoruba language, and same goes to many regions in Western Nigeria.
The word “Yoruba” is the corruption of “Yariba,” the Hausa word to refer to people in present-day Oyo, Osun, parts of Lagos, and parts of Kwara.
Awolowo first stated they were first Ijebus, before they are called Yorubas in Nigeria.
Before the amalgamation of Nigeria, the Ijebus first established trade with Europeans in the 15th century, until they were forced into slavery and sent to various parts of the world. This is why there are descendants of Yoruba race still found in Benin Republic, Togo, and Sierra Leon in West Africa, while some are in Brazil and Cuba.
Yorubas have tried seceding with their original names Egbo Omo Oduduwa and Egbe Afenifere, but are forced by their elite politicians to remain in Nigeria, so as to keep the British business center booming to their amazement.

Similarly, the Fulani people emanated from Fouta Djallon, a plateau and highland region, located in Guinea West Africa.
The Indigenous people of Futta Jalon are called "Fula Jalons" and the Fulani came from there.
They migrated to the Arewa Kingdom and Utsman Dan Fodio their Islamic father, declared a jihad war, conquered the Hausas and took over their land.
Then he made a pronouncement of converting Nigeria which the British government amalgamated 'into their forefathers estate, where they shall be in total control'.
"Fulbe" is the preferred self-name of the group. The Hausas termed them "Fulani" or "Hilani." In French countries, they tend to be termed "Peul" or "Fulata.
Muhammadu Buhari, the President of Nigeria, can attest to the fact that he is not a Nigerian but a Fulani.
It will surprise you to know that the only Hausa man that has emerged as Nigeria President, is General Yakubu Gowon, whom they compelled to carry out genocide against Biafrans.
The likes of Ibrahim Babaginda, Muhammadu Buhari, Abdusallami Abubakar etc are all Fulanis, which means even the leaders of Nigeria are not Nigerians.

The British creator and colonial masters of Nigeria, have full knowledge of the fact that Nigeria consists of nations with diverse value systems forcefully amalgamated, and who are not meant to be together, thus the need for a dissolution after over a hundred  years of unyielding creation.
Nationalists like  Alhaji Abubakar Tafawa Belewa, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Doctor Nnamdi Azikiwe were born before the creation of Nigeria, and their past statements have proven that there is no Nigerian in Nigeria.

Any fed up indigenous nation forced into this monster creation, must be allowed to go their separate ways, in accordance with their self determination right.
The Indigenous People Of Biafra led by Citizen Nnamdi Kanu, are willing to regain their freedom, through peaceful agitations amidst provocations, illicit killings and detentions; therefore, should be allowed to exercise their inalienable right to Self Determination, because the expired entity called Nigeria should be discarded.
