Dana Rohrabacher, a Senior U.S Congressman representing CA-48(California's 48th Congressional District) has joined the list of the ever rapidly increasing international dignitaries who has risen against all odds to condemn the subjugation of Biafrans in the British-created Nigeria. The former speech writer (1981-1988) to Ronald Reagan, a former American President, also condemned the incarceration of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) and the Director of Radio Biafra by the government of President Muhammadu Buhari; noting that the massive infringement on the right of Nnamdi Kanu and that of the generality of Biafrans to self determination is a huge blunder that can only aggravate the already porous 'stability' in Nigeria.

"Kanu should be freed. Keeping him in jail undermines stability if people of Biafra R(are) denied vote to determine who is their gov," Rohrabacher, a member of the U.S. Republican party said in series of statements published on his official twitter page during a conversation with a Biafran activist, Chimdiya Chibueze.

Going further, the staunch Libertarian admonished President Buhari and said,

"Biafran people have right to self determination. Permit vote on independence. Violent suppression will neither bring peace or freedom."

In addition, the Congressman dropped some words of advise and encouragement to millions of Biafrans all over the world-

"Biafra needs to makes its case. It is difficult to get attention of the world's free people, but there are non-violent ways to do it.

"The demand should not be for independence, but instead for an internationally supervised referendum to determine independence" he said.

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher has been serving as a Congressman at the U.S. House of Representatives since 1989, having previously represented California's 42nd District(1989-1993); 45th District(1993-2003); and 46th District(2003-2013). He assumed office as a representative for California's 48th District on January 3, 2013; a District he has been serving till date.

Rep Rohrabacher has a record of having sponsored 56% of bills based international affairs. On November 15 2015, he proposed a bill at the Congress House cited- H.R. 4017: "Save Christians from Genocide Act" with reference to the genocide being perpetrated against Christians in Syria, Pakistan, Iraq, Iran and Libya.

Apart from his support towards a lawfully restored Biafra sovereignty, Mr. Dana Rohrabacher is also advocating for an independence referendum for the people of Baloch, Kashmir and others.

  4. I will sing a Biafra hymn
With the highest pitch of my voice
Let it resonate across the globe
    No shame in being Igbo
No shame in being a Biafran
No shame in being an Africa

I will dance the Biafra dance
A warlike dance to boost our valor
    We’re the might elephant
    Nwanne m bu ‘Agu’
    Mu wa onwem bu ‘Odum’
    Call us the Eastern warriors
I will tell you the Biafra tale
We have been and will continue to be
    With death comes life
With Nigeria comes a risen Biafra
Look how bright the sun ascends
On our land and across lies our ubiquity
I will stage you a Biafra play
    We war like men
To be where we are; we never gave up
In the battlefield we stood tall
With oneness will overcame one rivals
    The war drums will testify…

When I sing you the Biafra hymn
When I dance you the Biafra dance
When I tell you the Biafra tale
When I stage you the Biafra play
Know that the time has come
For we to rebuild our home
