WE WONDER A 419ER OR THIEF THAT IS GREATER THAN OBASANJO----IPOB YOUTHS

WE WONDER A 419ER OR THIEF THAT IS GREATER THAN OBASANJO----IPOB YOUTHS
Obasanjo
Sometimes military blood don't seem to be workable in the civilization of today due to the lack of education of Nigerian military leaders which Obasanjo is one, such men are capable of wasting talents and hampering the visions of youths. We took sufficient time to study Obasanjo's comments over Biafra agitation and realized such man needs not exist for a better world or country, we are not actually against Obasanjo for opposing Biafra which is wise for him to do, we are simply against this primitive monkey-like over where he has relegated the youths. We must not try to hide our red-hot anger, the belief of Obasanjo that youths can't achieve or do anything is becoming intolerable and disgrace to every youth,  it’s time to stand and revolt against these men that play devilish god on the future of youths. Arewa youths and Oduduwa youths should wake up and know that the call for Biafra is a call for competitive Africa, a call for real change and a call for greatness through hardwork. Even though Obasanjo lacks education he must have traveled to civilized countries and see youths are the driving force of developed world. He should know that relegation of youths was the reason Nigeria failed and he should be thankful Biafra is here to clear his mess. Obasanjo should know grandfathers like him; Buhari and co cannot stand Biafran youths as their conservative nature will only drag them to grave. Before anger overshadow our lines let us remind Obasanjo that there is no impossibility with youths. Obasanjo is trying to keep quiet before a storm or doesn’t he want to admit the hurricane of Nnamdi kanu's lectures by labeling Biafra agitation a molehill.

Obasanjo
It’s high time we check the consciousness of this grandfather, how could an aged grandfather call an issue that took centre stage in the world media houses a molehill? How could a baby-grandfather call an issue that had left south south and southeast boiling a molehill? It’s evident that he couldn't believe he is losing the entity where youths are relegated to kids and grandfathers relegated to youths. He accused the leader of indigenous people of Biafra of being a 419 who is just out to scavenge and dupe people among others, by all indication this accusation is a sign of frustration and out-of-option, he is trying to halt the spread of the gospel of Nnamdi Kanu that had caught the likes of OPC, kayode , Biafrans and beyond. We wonder a 419 or thief that is greater than Obasanjo who stole public funds and the payment of into his account once mtn recharge card is used. The accusation of Nnamdi kanu as a 419 is quite laughable as the world knows Nnamdi Kanu is a role model, if Nnamdi Kanu is really out to make money; thirty million U.S dollars wouldn't have been spent in vain by Nigeria to neutralize radiobiafra. If Nnamdi kanu could not be defeated it shows that heavy money is utilized and committed than taken. Obasanjo needs to be reminded that Nnamdi Kanu is resident in London, lives a luxury life before going into Biafra struggle. He is a billionaire from a royal family; Obasanjo should better be preparing for his burial than preparing against youths that need healthy competition to civilize Africa.

Obasanjo with his unguarded statements further disclosed that Biafrans were settled after the war citing ministerial positions, financial positions, absorbance of some people and vice-presidency slot that was given to Biafrans, this also confirmed the claim of Biafra times that some Biafran elders was settled and some of them had made anti-people statements like so-called Enugu igbo leaders and Itshekiri so-called leaders of thought. Obasanjo needs to be asked if selecting few people and absorbing them into corruption and embezzlement of public funds a settlement. What about clearing bombs in Biafra land? What about building infrastructures for people that were stripped of everything they had? What about good roads in the sense of social amenities and job creations? The reality is Biafrans were never settled but living on their blood and sweat. Finally before we ignore Obasanjo, we want to tell him that he would see the power of youths very soon, he would see that Nnamdi Kanu is an exotic black African man who has common sense and not Tinibu who is being wanted in Chicago for drug crime or Nigerian politicians who seek political offices for financial benefits nor is him who used power as a means of robbery and weapon against enemies. We are Biafran youths, we are coming, the power is in our hands.

Israeli satellite to supply sub-Saharan Africa with free internet

Israeli satellite to supply sub-Saharan Africa with free internet

A joint venture by Israeli company Spacecom, Facebook, and French satellite provider Eutelsat aims to bring internet access to millions of people who aren't currently connected.

An Israeli space company, Spacecom, is developing its newest satellite for Facebook and French satellite provider Eutelsat, in a venture intended to supply free Internet to millions of people in sub-Saharan Africa.

The project is part of Facebook’s Internet.org non-for-profit initiative of providing affordable or free Internet to countries with limited or no access to what founder, Mark Zuckerberg describes as “the knowledge economy."

The AMOS-6 satellite, successor to the AMOS-2, will be equipped with 36 beams enabling it to cover the Middle East, Central East Europe and much of Africa. It will also contain enhanced backup capabilities in order to provide the highest service reliability.
Omri Arnon, Vice President of Business Development and Strategy at AMOS-Spacecom, explained that Israel’s interest in the initiative was not merely related to economics. In fact, the decision had much to do with the vast opportunity which can be afforded to the millions of new recipients who will, in the near future, be able to explore much of the world that has thus far been closed to them.

“Connecting people that have no connectivity to the Internet is one of the fundamental challenges of our time. When people have access to the internet, they can connect with their friends, family and communities,” Arnon said.

Moreover, the satellite will enable residents of sub-Saharan Africa to reap the economic and political benefits that will inevitably be generated with access to the Internet. Indeed, Arnon stated that the Internet service would enable “access to sources of information to help find jobs, start businesses, access healthcare, education and financial services, become part of the national and global economy, and have more influence on their societies.”

Facebook’s choice of Israel as the satellite developer will come as no surprise to some, with Israel already having proved that the geographical size of a country need not reflect the innovative capacity of its inhabitants.

Alluding to Israel as leading international technological developer, Arnon said that Facebook’s choice of the AMOS-6 for its new initiative reflects the quality of the satellite and demonstrates confidence in Spacecom and in Israeli technology. “We are looking forward and are proud to take part in contributing to the success of this tremendous venture,” he said.

In 2015, Israel was ranked fifth place on the Bloomberg Innovation Index which tracks the highest levels of the world’s research and development. This marked a huge climb from 30th place last year, setting Israel ahead of the UK, France and the US.

A sitting President to defy an order of a competent court a call for concern

EXTRA-JUDICIAL DETENTION OF NNAMDI KANU: WHERE IS BUHARI HEADING TO
By Ifeanyi Chijioke
(For Family Writers)

Buhari
One thing that amazes me is that in 21th century Nigeria is yet to be civilized in every aspect of life. A sitting President to defy an order of a competent court for any reason is a call for concern and further limits any doubt that one out of six is mentally ill in Africa. This is a case of international awareness yet Nigeria treats it the way they do, one would ask what then happens to interior or local cases? Biafrans are really endangered in this contraption called Nigeria and to enjoy human nature they must go where respect and law thrives. Is Buhari showing he is above the order of a competent court? Is Buhari telling the world that law doesn't exist in Nigeria? Is he telling UN nation that 2007 declaration on the rights of indigenous people not applicable to Nigeria? Is Buhari telling AU that they are fools for their endorsement of the declaration? Is Buhari saying that only Palestine has right to self-determination? I am yet to grasp the mindset of the democratic president of Nigeria but before I dwell on it, let me ponder over the response so far by the embodiment of Nigeria.

There is less shame in Nigeria and nobody cares if the image of Nigeria is being tarnished or laundered, this makes one ask is there really anybody called Nigerian? If there is then they ought to be concerned about the image of the country before international community and UN or do they think the world is blind?
Are they not aware Nnamdi Kanu is being followed and his arrest trending in world media? Why has the senators and Nigerians not called Muhammad Buhari to save the dying life of the contraption called Nigeria, would they not be seen as primitives' and Buhari the chief Primitive where ever they travel to even though they might not say it to their faces? Yes Nnamdi kanu is clamoring to break away from the contraption called Nigeria but isn't there a law for such people? Isn't there no other legal or decisive way to defeat Nnamdi Kanu than worsening it by clamping down on him? Detention has multiplied and internationalized Biafra restoration and no way for Nigeria to escape again. I therefore declare state of emergency on Nigeria for international communities to address and instill ethics for being human beings.

The press will not be left as Nigerian Journalists had proven to be failures in the field of Journalism. I had previously wrote about their puppet-existence in the hands of the leadership of the day, instead of consistently pressing for justice, equity and sustenance of human right by pressurizing Muhammad Buhari to be democratic and be exemplary leader to Nigerians. They are all busy protecting the ambitions of politicians who neither make life easy for the people. It’s high time African journalists wake up to the looming dictatorship that is present in governments and know that if silence or blind eye is turned to disobedient of the law by leaders, it will definitely affect the entire continent. Biafra is not a call for terrorist state or evil state but for the existence of lawful people to show the world the wonders of Africa. Biafra will breed competition and set the pace for a new Africa. So journalists and journalism should be responsible and do justice, be fair and judge without fear or favour.

INFORMATION FROM DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF RADIO BIAFRA

INFORMATION FROM DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF RADIO BIAFRA

Fellow Biafrans, be courageous, focused and resolute! Nobody can suffocate the spirit of Biafra!!Our able leader Nnamdi Kanu is still in the Enemy Camp. The court has granted him bail and ordered for him to be released but the President of the contraption called Nigeria, Buhari has taken laws into his hands and is single-handedly issuing orders to torture and continue to incarcerate our leader. But one thing is clear: Biafra will prevail!!!

Getting set for “Biafran Millions’ March”

Getting set for “Biafran Millions’ March”
By Time Tochukwu

All over Biafraland, everywhere Biafrans have been holding their meetings in the last one month, both at home and abroad, one prominent subject has always been discussed. That subject is tagged the “Biafran Millions’ March”.  It will take place in the coming days. The march, with its planning in top gear, is expected to be the biggest of its kind anywhere in Africa.  As the planning is taking place, the people have called it by different names. There are those who have called it “Igurube” which is Igbo name for locust. They said it is going to be the gathering of millions to finally bury the ghost and demon of Nigeria. Others described it as mega rally. They described it so because, according to them, there have not been anything like it in terms of the number of people that would be there in the whole Africa and would possibly not be anything like it in the next 1000 years.

Others call it “Ura aga n’anya”, meaning that which will takes sleep off the eyes. Those who name it this way said it was because the protest will not only be huge in terms of the number of people that would participate in it, but also because of the duration. According to them, the excitement will not allow the protesters to sleep on the job. For some others, the coming Biafrans’ millions rally is “the first African spring” because it will mark the first truly African revolutionary movement to bring about the first truly African independent state through a mass movement. Feelers from IPOB leadership show that those coming from abroad for the march would be coming with state of the art broadcast equipment to make sure that all aspects and sections of the protest were covered. They explained that there would be hundreds of television cameras from every angle at the venue to provide life-streaming pictures for Biafra Television 24/7 broadcasts.  Radio Biafra also will carry all the happenings life for the world to know. With the magnitude of planning on ground, the organizers said the rally was being billed to achieve “a mega rally that is unprecedented in the history of Africa”.

A Nigerian organizer who craved anonymity, claimed that first, the rally would make Nigerians (government and peoples) to be aware that the issue of Biafra has gone beyond violent suppression by law enforcement agents, and the childish gimmicks government used to derail previous agitation. According to him, one of such gimmicks was the one recently played by the government by holding their leader, Nnamdi Kanu, and then trying to blackmail IPOB members that they could not provide two million Naira, for his bail. They had even refused to inform their gullible subjects that Nnamdi rejected them and their court by telling them that he did not recognize their authority because he was not Nigerian but Biafran. Added to that, they did not tell their gullible subjects that what they were engaged in was simply “kidnap and ransom” business.  Another achievement they said the march would bring would be to expose the lies of Nigeria – through its highly compromised and lying Lagos/Ibadan media – that Biafra was no longer popular with the people. They said it would also put to shame saboteurs and quislings who were using the suffering and hardship of their own people to get concessions and benefits from the wicked Nigerian state. The march, they said, have exposed Muhammadu Buhari, the so-called Nigerian president “for the moron he is, who is not competent to govern even a harmlet in the contraption Britain created and called Nigeria”. They said it would go further to make the people give him the Mohammed Morsi treatment as was done in Egypt on July 3, 2013. From all indications, one thing is certain, and that is that after this “Biafran Millions’ March”, Biafraland will no longer be the same; and Nigeria will in no way remain the same; and even the world will begin to look at Africa with a different eye.

Kanu must be strong for Biafra

Kanu must be strong for Biafra
By Tim Tochukwu

Nnamdi Kanu
Part of the discussions going on amongst Biafrans at the moment has to do with the pressures being exerted on Nnamdi Kanu, leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and Director of Radio Biafra, to compromise the Biafran struggle. The Biafrans had become aware of the report of endless stream of visitors – prominent Northern Nigerians – visiting Kanu in detention with the sole purpose of making him to jettison the struggle for Biafra’s independence. They have been visiting him with juicy offer, of positions in government and money. The people were well informed on how Kanu had bluntly refused all the offers. Without doubt, it was good news that he turned down the offers. That should also be good news to his numerous followers who have followed him on his agitation train as a result of his constant promises that he would never accept bribe from Nigeria to jettison the struggle.

At a time, Kanu made it a point to duty to pray on air, asking God to strike him dead any time he contemplated selling-out on the struggle. Notwithstanding, as things are now, one simple answer Kanu must give to those trying to lure him away from the struggle with pecuniary offers, should be akin to that Nelson Mandela gave to the apartheid regime in South Africa. It is worldwide knowledge that every time the South African government reached out to Mandela, to negotiate with him in prison, he has always told them that he would not negotiate in chains. Kanu should do same. He should tell the Nigerians that he would not negotiate with them behind bars. While Kanu is doing that, he should also remind himself some of the things he told Biafrans on air, one of which is from history that every Biafran that had aligned with Nigeria against Biafra always came back disgraced or out-rightly killed. This should keep him focused and make him stand stronger for Biafra. The IPOB leader should also remind himself of Biafrans who had done so and paid dearly for it.

For instance, there was the case of Nnamdi Azikiwe, a colossus and former Nigerian (ceremonial) President who was reduced from the towering stature of the great “Zik of Africa” to an insignificant appellation of “Owelle of Onitsha”. He should remember Chuba Okadigbo, who thought Nigerians were sane enough to recognize academic excellence and brilliance, only to be gassed to death by Nigerian authorities in a street in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital. Now, more than ever before, Kanu must not fail to remember Alex Ekwueme, another Biafran who served Nigeria diligently as Vice President and was corrupt-free. But after the coup d’état that ousted their regime, he was humiliated by being dumped in Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison in Lagos, while Shehu Shagari, who was the president, was allowed to go home without molestation. What about Goodluck Jonathan, the naïve and uniformed adult who knew nothing about his heritage. Jonathan spent his life learning how to serve Nigeria diligently, but not about his people; how to uplift Nigeria, but not how to uplift his people. He never spent time to think about Nigeria and its evils against his own people – Biafran people.

Nnamdi Kanu Praying
It was not a surprise that he headed a government that gave award to people who violently and insolently colonized his people. He became the president and came out disgraced, even when he was the best of all Nigeria had ever got as president in terms of forward planning and execution for future development. In spite of that, he achieved nothing for his Biafran people and came out condemned and discredited. Kanu should remember Ken Saro Nwiwa, the one who was so greedy and in a hurry to sail out his own people, having been offered a “commissioner” position at the age of 19/20. He, as a result, rejected his own and chose to serve foreigners against his own people. He stood for the dispossession of his own people just for some momentary rewards and pleasures. Unfortunately for him, when reality dawned on him and he wanted to retrace his steps and revert to service to his people, it was those foreigners that eventually murdered him through a judicial murder acknowledged worldwide.

Kanu should also remember that it was Nigerians who killed Isaac Adaka Boro who aligned with the marauding Nigerian soldiers during the Biafra/Nigeria war. He made the mistake of believing that the Nigerian vandals had a better heart to grant his people autonomy more than his own people who worked for the autonomy of the Midwestern Region. He showed the way to enter Igweocha (Port Harcourt) through the creeks. After the war, it was these same Nigerian vandals that shot him from behind and killed him. Knowing how fiery he was as an agitator, and that he would give them hell whenever he realized that they tricked him. Kanu should think of Lebanya Uwazuruike, the one they call Ralph Uwazuruike; the one that had all the prospects of becoming great as a peaceful agitator, but sold-out to greed. He lost it all because he took his eyes of the big picture of Biafra to gaze at the fleeting gains of a rotten Nigeria.

He could not see that Nigeria was gradually slipping into oblivion. Today he is an empty soul walking around and seeking succor because Biafra has rejected him and Nigeria has also rejected him. With these few reasons above, Nnamdi Kanu must not allow any fleeting thought of betraying the struggle stick to his mind, no matter what they offer him. He must resist the lure of Nigeria as Arnold Schwarzenegger resisted the anti-Christ in the movie “End of Days”. Nnamdi Kanu, you must be strong for Biafra, the reward is better.

Russia's President Vladimir Putin Is Doing To ISIS What Obama Refused To Do

couple of days/weeks ago, I had raised the subject of how Russian President, Valdamir Putin was finally standing up to Islamist terrorist group, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS) as President Barack Obama spent months blowing cheap rhetorics around the world – at the time, some folks were so sure I didn’t know what I was talking about – well, things have changed even further from then – all of a sudden, even IRAN and RUSSIA have now been invited to join the talks on SYRIA – by which nation? Take a wild guess!

Then it gets even more predictable, the US is now running helter-skelter to renew bombing ISIS as well – all in a bid not to be seen to be ‘a lesser power’ to Russia (and by extension, IRAN) – so if you are one of those that argued against me earlier on “the reasons why America would not want to bother fighting ISIS”, what would now be your next line of defense?

I am paying attention to ISIS here because I insist this completely wicked neglect adopted by Obama’s White House was the same script it played regarding Nigeria v Boko Haram – this is the very reason why I would prefer a Republican as the next President of the US; there is a unique reason why GOD has allowed the US to play the role it has always played in the world – a leader who does not understand the spiritual importance of that role should not be in that office – a proper American President should not sit idly as 20,000+ Nigerians are killed by a sect in 5 years; as 200,000+ Syrians are murdered in cold blood in the same timeframe; and as another 1,000,000+ get forced into exile – while that President keeps blaming the respective leaders of these nations for such scenarios rather than finding creative ways to engage these problems.

If America wants to resign its role as the stabilizing global power, it should vacate the unique seats/roles it holds at the United Nations; withdraw its powers in NATO, and stop being the moral umpire of how this world works – you can’t choose to retains such powers and influence while also claiming to be adopting the international diplomacy practices of “We don’t get involved!”

The United States of America simply cannot eat its cake and still have it!

The arrest of Nnamdi Kalu for operating Radio Biafra was a catastrophic blunder

The arrest of Nnamdi Kalu for operating Radio Biafra was a catastrophic blunder
By Chima Ubochi

It is not the business of government to make men virtuous or religious, or to preserve the fool from the consequences of his own folly. Government should be repressive no further than is necessary to secure liberty by protecting the equal rights of each from aggression on the part of others, and the moment governmental prohibitions extend beyond this line they are in danger of defeating the very ends they are intended to serve (Henry George)

Rather than tackling the myriad problems besetting Nigeria, President Buhari goes about looking for whom to arrest and detain. Buhari has not jettisoned his dictatorial tendencies, as he wants to gag the press and abolish freedom of speech and association. He still thinks that he is a military ruler. The arrest of Nnamdi Kalu for operating Radio Biafra was a catastrophic blunder by this administration. Nnamdi Kanu, the Director of Biafra Television and the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), was arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS), after he had flown from the UK, to Lagos. We learnt he is being held in an underground cell, and, in the midst of other hardened criminals, and, that he is not eating the food they are offering to him, fearing that he might be poisoned. It is remarkable how Nnamdi Kanu has been making Buhari tremulous all along! According to Vanguard, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is a separatist movement that call for the independence of Nigeria’s former Eastern Region – proclaimed the Republic of Biafra in 1967 and re-annexed to Nigeria three years later, following a civil war that claimed between one and three million lives.

Mr. Kanu has been granted bail, but has not been released, every of his bail conditions has been met, he has also been denied access to his lawyer. His arrest has led to pro-Biafra rallies and demonstrations in Port Harcourt, Asaba, Onitsha, Enugu, Aba, Owerri, Umuahia and all over Igbo land. Unfortunately, those rallies and demonstrations have led to the killing and maiming of some of the pro-Biafra demonstrators. The federal government that Buhari is leading has ordered police to shoot unarmed people protesting the detention of Nnamdi Kanu. Buhari went to the United Nations some weeks ago to preach freedom for the Palestine people, and their right to have their own nation, while here in Nigeria, he is doing something else, and has ordered the arrested of a young man who is only using his Radio Station to bring hope, enlightenment and knowledge to his people. How can Buhari make a speech at the United Nations supporting freedom, and self determination for other peoples, but, in his own country, peaceful demonstrators against the unlawful detention of Nnamdi Kanu, who is asking for the freedom and the self determination of his people, are being shot, maimed or arrested? The whole thing smacks of self-deception.

Buhari has turned Nnamdi Kanu into an instant hero; even the Member of the British Parliament representing Nnamdi Kanu’s constituency has joined the fray among other world leaders. We just read where the Member of Parliament representing Camberbell and Peckham in the British House of Commons, Ms. Harriet Harman, has petitioned the House of Common for the illegal detention her constituent member is exposed to in Nigeria. The British MP had in the petition requested that the Nigerian government to immediately release Nnamdi Kanu or charge him to court for offences committed.

President Buhari, as the fugleman or leader, should beware of his actions and utterances. Nothing lasts forever. He might heed the warning of Proverbs 16:18: “Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall”(New Living Translation), and, George Ayittey (1945) wrote that “Dictators cause the world’s worst problems: all the collapsed states, and all the devastated economies…leaving in their wake trails of wanton destruction, horrendous carnage and human debris”. Buhari should know that all those people protesting in the former Eastern Region are not only doing that because of Nnamdi Kanu, but, are also using the opportunity to vent out their disappointment, frustration, anger and hatred for the ruling class.

For those who were fooled initially by the messiah-like portrayal of Buhari, and who now remain concerned over the direction of Nigeria under a man, whose leadership resembles that of an imperialistic president, what more could be expected from one elected to Aso Rock, whose perceived self image is paramount, and who had never before even managed anything well? One thing is that history tells us that narcissistic pride (love) of self and false aura of superiority, such as surrounds and abides in President Buhari, is bound to be pierced in time. In the midst of turmoil and unrest Buhari is creating, the people of Biafra have not given up hope, as some believe that the “bone shall rise again”. Only time will tell!

BREAKING NEWS: MOPOL team from Kogi invades Enugu, shoots 6, burns shops, cars

BREAKING NEWS: MOPOL team from Kogi invades Enugu, shoots 6, burns shops, cars

Area of Enugu State, following the invasion of the area by suspected members of the Police Mobile Force, MOPOL, from Lokoja, the Kogi State capital. The invaders reportedly shot six people, five men and a woman as well as burnt shops, vehicles before they were overpowered by their colleagues from Enugu State. Sources told the South East Voice that some of the police invaders abandoned their AK47 riffles and uniforms when they were confronted by their colleagues from Enugu State.

Among the MOPOL officers whose uniforms were recovered by the Police Area Command Office in Nsukka included those of Corporal Enemona Itodo with Force number 433524; Usman Sani (number 414615) and Amos Abutu (number 356905) The Chairman of Etteh Youths Association, EYA, Mr. Hycinth Agada confirmed the attack and expressed worry that some policemen would leave their duty posts in Lokoja to carry out illegal duties of burning the property of those they were paid to protect in Enugu State.

Agada said that, “the Area Commander had come to Etteh to address our people on the shooting of Sunday Idoko in the classroom when the policemen came back in a Toyota Hilux vehicle and started firing guns towards our direction. Earlier, they had shot Gilbert Onu on his right hand, while Damian Ijiga was shot on the head at a beer palour at Ette Market Square at about 7.30p.m. on Tuesday.

“We want the Inspector General of Police, IGP, to investigate this matter and find out who sent the policemen from Lokoja to attack us in our homes in Enugu State.” However, armed policemen were patrolling the area at the time of this report. Etteh community has not known peace in the last five years following agitation by some youths that the area be merged with Kogi State.

The member representing Igboeze North 11 Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly is Tony Ogidi from Etteh. The area which has three major tribes including Igbo, Igala and Idoma was said to have been merged with the defunct Eastern Nigeria from the Northern Nigeria in 1954 after a plebiscite conducted by the colonialists. But, while some Igala youths from Ette had been agitating to be merged with Kogi State, majority of the Igbo and Idoma residents had opposed the move resulting in closure of schools, courts, churches and other government offices in the last five years until two months ago when peace was brokered and some schools re-opened.

The last population census and INEC registration of voters did not take place in Etteh following the alleged violent activities of the Kogi agitators which started after a Supreme Court judgement which threw out their suit on the issue.

Media is the voice of the voiceless but in Nigeria its a tool in the hands of government to suppress the masses.

They failed to know the mission of journalism due to they schooled in Nigeria where Education is mockery of knowledge. They failed to know that patriotism is a greater feat than wealth. They failed to know that journalism is a tool that sharpens and leads a country. They thought journalism is a tool that promotes sitting government. They thought journalism is a tool that is used to keeping a country together. To an excellent  Nigerian journalist that is what journalism is all about. One would pause and ask where am i from? When international media houses floated an open letter on the arrest of Nnamdi kanu, i had a lot of blatant calls that Buhari will arrest me or shoot me; i must confess that fear gripped me until i was abreasted by Mazi Emeka Nnaoma. I sat down and imagined what nigerian journalists must have seen and thought of absorbing them of much blame. But i am a product of radiobiafra and a graduate of radiobiafra school of knowledge and reasoning. My lecturer Mazi Nnamdi kanu would always say stand without fear even in the face of your enemies for it is appointed unto man to die but once. Sadly they had no lecturer like mine and nigeria collapsed for their lack of commitments and understanding of the power of press. It started before 1967 when they were supposed to come hard on the northern elites to change the way they perceive eastern people and western elites as well but they failed as money was more important than truth. During the war they had the chance to tell the world of the then ongoing genocide but was bribed by Nigeria as they published and peddled lies. It became a culture that money is needed before news is published or written and the rich hijacked the press and corruption took prominence. They have however continued on that path till Radio Biafra emerged and disclosed what they are, i decided to research and follow journalism in Nigeria and these are what i found out.

The fear of the executive remains a factor that destroyed Nigeria, it has become a culture of playing the puppet in the hands of the executive of the day and any attempt to oppose will result to your newspapers being barred or journalists clamped on. Truth that will shape the country but hurt the ambition of the sitting government is always considered as a threat. Citing the condition of Nigeria, they have decided to throw away truth and constructive publications by supporting the government and they would never ask can anything built on lies ever last? People are being murdered for lawfully and peacefully going about their self determination and they are unable to address it because they feel the government will be downed. Media is the voice of the voiceless and the eyes of the blind but in Nigeria its a tool in the hands of government for suppression. They have conspired with government against the people and successfully dipped in corruption as they are agents of death and witch hunting. They are yet to repent even in the presence  of Radio Biafra that shreds them, they made the world embrace radio Biafra as truth will always prevail over lies. They are on it again with failure to call the government to order instead calling spade a dog  while mothers are being arrested and youths killed for lawfully demanding their desire. Until arms are involved they won't show virtue and now Nigeria has collapsed who will allow such journalists elsewhere.

Brutality of Nigeria Police: Policeman kills tennis star after argument

Brutality of Nigeria Police:  Policeman kills tennis star after argument

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, has ordered the arrest of a policeman who allegedly shot and killed one of Nigeria’s celebrated tennis superstars. The victim, Beauty Mc- Cleod, was said to have been shot by the policeman at a hotel named Emperor’s Place, during an altercation on Sunday. The tennis star was lodging at the hotel before her murder.

McCleod was rushed to the hospital, but died the following day. McCleod’s daughter, Angel, is also a top-rated junior tennis star. According to sources, the policeman, attached to the Moroko Police Station, had been arrested and detained on the orders of the commissioner.

The incident occurred at the hotel located on Balarabe Musa Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. A witness said the policeman, who was attached to the hotel as one of the security guards, shot the tennis star after a brief argument. A source said that the United Arab Emirates (UAE)- based tennis star was lodging at the hotel with her daughter, Angel, but met her untimely death in the hands of the trigger- happy policeman when she challenged the cop for refusing her guest entry into the hotel’s premises. The source, close to the deceased, said:

“Beauty returned from Ghana on Sunday where she took her daughter to a tennis academy. She invited one of her friends to pick her up for shopping at the hotel that same night but had reservations about the manner the police guard treated her guest. “She apparently challenged the policeman when she went back to her room to pick her wallet and according to the guest, who is also my friend; the policeman chased Beauty down the stairs and shot her on the leg.

The guest did not know what transpired between the two of them but saw the policeman open fire on the woman.” The deceased was rejected at a nearby hospital where she was rushed to for treatment but lost too much blood and gave up the ghost on Monday morning before she could be treated at Saint Nicholas Hospital, where she was finally admitted.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Joe Offor, said the shooter is attached to Mountain Troop Police, not Moroko Police Division. He said: “The policeman shot a woman and she died. The policeman has been detained at Moroko Police Station.”

Explaining what the policeman told police authorities transpired between him and McCleod, Offor said: “We only have the policeman’s version, but the woman is dead. We can’t get to hear her side of the story. But investigations are ongoing and we have started talking to eye witnesses.

“The story we have, however, is that the policeman and the woman live in the same compound on Victoria Island. They had been having issues. They had another quarrel and the woman attempted to dispossess him of his gun. During the struggle, the gun exploded. The woman was hit. She later died.”

Biafra: Buhari’s plans exposed!

Biafra: Buhari’s plans exposed!
By Tim Tochukwu

On Sunday, October 18, news broke all over Nigeria that Nnamdi Kanu, leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Director of Radio Biafra was arrested the previous day. The reports had it that Kanu was arrested in Lagos State, at Golden Tulip Essential Hotel. He was on transit to Biafraland, his homeland. To a great number of IPOB membership, the report proved them right for they had, two days earlier, expressed suspicion that Nigerian government had kidnapped their leader with the intention of having him secretly killed and his body disposed-off without trace. They had explained their reason for holding the view as stemming from the fact that they lost contact with him Thursday, October 15, two clear days before Nigerian government accepted that they had him in their custody.

As a matter of fact, Nigerian government and its Directorate of State Security Service (DSS) had denied that they had him in their custody when Biafrans, through Radio Biafra broadcast, announced to the world that he had been kidnapped by the government. It was only when Biafrans began to release intelligence information on goings-on where he was kept, and the fact that he was being tortured, that the government felt embarrassed enough to own-up to holding him. This convinced many more Biafrans that the government truly planned to have their leader secretly eliminated. The people went as far as suspecting, even the government’s claim that it had arraigned him in court and granted him bail. They said nobody witnessed that arraignment, neither his lawyer nor his subordinates; not even his relations. Some members of IPOB who responded to questions on the matter, further claimed that the reason why he was kept incommunicado for so long was to make sure that the injuries they inflicted on him while torturing him to pries out information, would heal. Other perspectives on the arrest were also made on the matter from other quarters. For instance, the perspective from International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (Intersociety) few days ago, proved particularly instructive.

The group described some of the action taken by government on the issue as worrisome. In a recent statement signed by its chairman, Emeka Umeagbalasi, the group worried that Nigeria may dip into unprecedented dictatorship if certain aspects of Kanu’s case were not challenged. According to the group, a new dimension of dictatorship was beginning to show in the country under Muhammadu Buhari’s watch. Part of the statement had read: “We are sad because a new potentially dangerous dimension has been introduced into the ordeal of the detained Biafran self-determination activist. His detention has now graduated from judicial detention to extra-judicial detention. That is to say that he is no longer being detained on the orders of the named Magistrate Court upon the Court’s harshly imposed bail conditions; rather he is now detained extra-judicially according to administrative and operational whims and caprices of the Department of the State Security Services (DSS).” The group argued that part of “these administrative and operational whims and caprices lately deployed by the DSS” were totally unknown to the principles of the rule of law, constitutional democracy, and the country’s so-called 1999 Constitution. It stated also that it was alien to local and international human rights and humanitarian norms. On this, feelers from IPOB camp revealed a belief that the Buhari government never intended to arrest and try their leader, but was only intent on kidnapping and murdering him. They argued that it was the final decision of the government after it failed to take Radio Biafra off air, both through legal and foul means. They saw that as the full essence of the boast of Emeka Mba, the Director General of Nigeria Broadcast Commission (NBC) that they would neutralize the effect of the station. IPOB believed, neutralizing Radio Biafra meant taking Kanu out of the way in line with a certain Biblical line that if you “strike the shepherd, the sheep will scatter”. However Intersociety somewhat expressed happiness on the development because, somehow – according to them – it helped to bring to the notice of the world, the harsh and draconian bail conditions imposed on Kanu, the non-violent agitator. The development also showed that Nigerian government, now under the wicked regime of the virulent Buhari, had no respect for the courts or Judiciary. “The DSS ought to or was expected to have completed its verification process by Thursday, 22nd October 2015 and caused Citizen Nnamdi Kanu to be released in compliance with the order of the Abuja Municipal Magistrate Court, dated since 19th October 2015. This, the DSS failed woefully to do till date” he wrote. The development also brought to scrutiny once again, the conniving acquiescence of the Lagos/Ibadan media to evil governments in Nigeria, especially against Biafran peoples.

To a lot of people, it was a shame that the same media that became robust and combative during the Sani Abacha era has gone cold and blind to the excessive evil of Buhari and his henchmen. Intersociety saw it this way: “Various signs of triggers of constitutional dictatorship have continuously been on increase in Nigeria since 1st June 2015 with the most shocking being collective silence or leprous opinions of the hitherto mainstream civil society of the Southwest zone. Our several studies of the root causes of African dictatorship clearly indicate that dictatorship is often made possible by collective silence or misguided quietness and conformism of attentive public (i.e. professional bodies in natural and social science disciplines, labour leaders, academia, church leaders, media and rights based civil society organizations and their leaders) otherwise called the Civil Society.” The body gave as a good example, the fact that the doctrine of checks and balances between the arms of government – the executive, the legislature and the judiciary – has been eroded since Buhari’s coming. “Intersociety was therefore left with no other option than to declare:

The collective quietness of the civil society in constitutional democracy is a clear recipe for constitutional dictatorship” the group stated. Notwithstanding the continued incarceration of Kanu: in spite of all the deterioration of governance in the British contraption called Nigeria, and despite the country’s unfolding descent into a dictatorship, Biafrans all over the world have proven not to be daunted. They have hit Nigeria with demonstrations and have written protest letters to world bodies, heads of governments, and important personalities internationally. All embassies and high commissions of Nigeria in world capitals are being visited with mass protests by vociferous Biafrans who are demanding the unconditional release of their leader. One of such protests took place in India where a protester declared thus: “Kanu has not done anything wrong, he is a prisoner of conscience kidnapped by the operatives of the Department of State Services. But we are warning that if they fail to release him, we will break down this embassy. Go and call all the police in India, they cannot stop us. We don’t joke about our leader. We are not afraid of jail.” Chukwuemeka Iroanya, Coordinator of all Coordinators (COC) of IPOB explained in a recent broadcast that such anger boiling over in Biafrans is what the leadership of the people have been struggling to contain since their leader was kidnapped by the Nigerian government. He said the leadership may not be able to restrain the people much longer. Uche Mefor, Deputy leader of IPOB as well as Deputy Director of Radio Biafra has however promised that the protests will continue to go on around the world capitals until Kanu is released.

BUHARI IS INSTIGATING SOUTH-SOUTH AND SOUTH-EAST GOVERNORS AGAINST THEIR PEOPLE

Buhari is instigating south-south and south-East governors against their people
By Ifeanyi Chijioke
(For Family Writers)

Where has shame gone, where has constructive actions gone, is Buhari playing with you Nigerians or can Buhari really play on the minds of south-south or south-east governors. Each day the news of Boko haram bombing and maiming break out, counting how many innocent Nigerians they killed i feel like i never knew Nigeria, i hate horrifying news or pictures that i tend to go to the northern region and fight boko haram to the last. The properties and effort of men that go up in flame by terrible bombs detonated by these heartless jihadists, i thought of what islam has done on the contrary.

Biafra agitation by Biafrans has recorded no unlawful act since IPOB took the centre stage yet Buhari have the audacity to give southsouth and southeast ultimatum. Seriously i am beginning to question the academical or mental sanity of President Muhammad Buhari Southsouth, southeast and northern governors who need ultimatum? Reading the mind of Muhammad Buhari one would know that to Buhari there is no problem in the north, boko haram that is recognized as international terrorist organization is not a threat northern governors should be given ultimatum on. Muhammad Buhari is convincing us further that boko haram who targets Biafrans is a people he is aware of notwithstanding he swore never to fight them which shows interest of people is not in his heart but interest of the north and islam.

However, the card Muhammad Buhari is playing on southsouth and southeast governors is to instigate them against their people to please him and through which his hatred for Biafrans will be manifested. Buhari giving ultimatum to the governors to kill or shoot law abiding Biafrans, to attack people exercising their lawful right to self-determination. What can we say about this hatred for Biafrans when boko haram that breaks the law, there is no ultimatum given to their governors to stop them but in Biafra where law is obeyed ultimatum is given.

IGBO-NIGERIA POLITICIANS CAN NOT SPEAK FOR BIAFRANS

IGBO-NIGERIA POLITICIANS CAN NOT SPEAK FOR BIAFRANS

Obiano and Gowon
A lot of speculations and statements from various individuals have been made as regards to the approval and support of Igbo-Nigeria politicians and Leaders towards the quest for the restoration of Biafra, perhaps due to ignorance of the truth. It must be corrected that Biafra restoration is not an Igbo quest, thus anybody engulfed in the false notion of the restoration of Biafra as an Igbo-Nigeria quest, should have a total rethink, as such idea only exist in an ignorant and demented mindset. The agitation and struggle towards the restoration of Biafra,is a quest for Freedom from the British forceful colonization and amalgamation of the Islamic contraption called Nigeria, restoration of Sanity, Elimination of Public Treasury/Fund Looters, restoration of accountable leadership and the restoration of Biafra as a Nation. Igbo-Nigeria Leaders and Politicians are not Biafra representatives or leaders; they are Nigeria Islamic leaders and the slaves of the Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba Politicians, who take orders from their Islamic Masters for their selfish reasons and as well to stop the restoration of Biafra.

Biafrans are struggling to gain freedom and restore Biafra from the contraption called Nigeria, concocted by the British for their own amusement and Igbo-Nigeria Leaders are not an exemption, as Biafrans and the World at large know that they are Nigeria Corrupt, Looting, Terrorist, Murderers and Mayhem bringers. We are whiter than white and whiter than snow and as such, despise any association with Igbo-Nigeria Politicians, as they are Communicable and Contagious disease that can contaminate the restoration of Biafra. We are Biafrans and Igbo-Nigeria leaders are Nigerians. Seeking for the consent and support of an Igbo-Nigeria Islamic Politician whose Brain cells has been eaten up by corruption, is seeking for the consent of the Devil to make Heaven. Biafrans are not flabbergasted over the close relationship between the Chief Sponsor/General of Biafra Genocide by name Yakubu Gowon with his Slave genocidal associates called Igbo-Nigeria Islamic leaders, as birds of the same feather flocks together. Murderer Yakubu Gowon is an Islamic Murderer and the Chief Sponsor of 1967-1970 Biafra Genocide. He subjugated Biafrans to servitude, mayhem and death and that outrageous act can never leave the memories of Biafrans. He was the Man who trampled on the ABURI ACCORD made at Aburi with Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu and has been in a Life time quest to stop the restoration of Biafra,by devising various devilish tactics to actualize his evil quest.

Rochas and Gowon
Igbo-Nigeria Politicians were all rigged into power by the Islamic masters, in other to help propagate the gospel of Islam, as well as stop the restoration of Biafra, by subjugating and subjecting Biafrans to unbearable and perpetual poverty, as well as bringing death to Biafrans. They all live luxurious Life at the expense of Biafran treasury and livelihood. Rochas Okorocha the Islamic Governor of Imo State, have been stealing huge amount of Money that is capable of causing tsunami to the ears, from the public treasury for his selfish gains and amusement. This very Igbo-Nigeria Governor, recently beat his wife to pulp for giving him a piece of advice to pay State Government workers Salaries and Pensioners as well. Rochas Okorocha who has subjected Biafrans to poverty by refusing to pay their Salaries, recently built a Multi-Billion Naira Mosque at Owerri the State capital of Imo State and as well ordered for the continuous arrest and detention of Biafra restoration agitators and Biafrans listening to Radio Biafra,a Biafra Radio station. Willie Obiano the Igbo-Nigeria Governor of Anambra State, ordered for the sporadic shooting of Biafrans peacefully evangelizing and propagating the gospel of the restoration of Biafrans, which left three Biafrans dead and several others severely injured on the 30 of August,2015,an unforgettable day Biafrans tagged "BLACK SUNDAY". After the unlawful detention of the Leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,Willie Obiano ordered for the shooting and arrest of Biafra Women peacefully protesting for the unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and this very slave of Hausa/Fulani has kept to his promise towards the continuous arrest of Biafrans agitating for the restoration of Biafran. His predecessor Peter Obi the former Igbo-Nigeria Governor of Anambra State had as well ordered for the killing of Biafrans during his tenure. On the 11 of May, 2006 under the Presidency of Olusegun Obasanjo Peter Obi deployed over 200 Islamic Troops whom were Hausa/Fulani tribes to Onitsha and issued a shoot-at-sight order to them. A lot of Biafrans were killed, including a pregnant Woman. Okezie Ikpeazu the Islamic Abia State Governor and other Igbo-Nigeria Islamic Politicians and leaders made similar orders. We urge World Leaders, Human Activists and every individual to desist from consulting and seeking for the consent and approval of Igbo-Nigeria Politicians and leaders towards the restoration of Biafra, as they are not representatives of the indigenous People of Biafra, they are contagious and communicable diseases to Biafra restoration, Enemies of Biafra and Slaves to Hausa/Fulani and Yorubas. We the Indigenous People of Biafra, we represent ourselves.

BIAFRA IS NOT IGBO

BIAFRA IS NOT IGBO
By Chima Onyekachi
(For Family Writers)

Since the outset of "Radio Biafra" fm transmission signal in most parts of Biafraland and parts of Lugard's invention called Nigeria. I have observed keenly that every nonentity and self-centered Igbo speaking Nigerian that wants to get attention for government appointments or contracts tends to speak about Biafra and Radio Biafra. These people in collaboration with most Nigeria media outlets have always described Biafra as "an Igbo affair" in other to cause confusion and division.

I want to enlighten those who wish to get enlightened that Igbo is just one of the many clans in Biafraland.  First, the name BIAFRA was suggested by Chief Frank Opigo of blessed memory, an Izon (Ijaw) speaking Biafran who also served as an administrator for Biafra. It is also noteworthy that the second in command during the Biafra war and the last President of Biafra was Obong Philip Efiong who is an Ibibio speaking Biafra and never had any dealings with Nigeria until his death. Biafra is made up of Idoma, Igbanke, Ibibio, Igbo, Isobo(Urohobo), Itsekiri, Efik,Igede; In fact if your mother ties a two piece wrapper complemented with a blouse and you practice the four market days in your homeland, you are a Biafran.

If any person wishes to be exempted,it is their choice and their dissociation is highly acceptable. BIAFRA literally means "come and join" and no person is been forced to be part of it. Joe Igbokwe, who has spent all his life in Lagos since after the 1967-1970 Biafra Genocide and has forgotten the deplorable state of his hometown in Nnewi is shamelessly the most vocal against the restoration of Biafra. I will advise him to concentrate on speaking for the Islamic party-APC as the publicity person he is and leave the Biafra issue out of his discussion. Let him keep silent and indulge in his political appointment as the Chairman of revenue collectors in Apapa Wharf as appointed by Governor Ambode of Lagos State. The same advice goes to the unknown Ndi Eze Ndigbo in Adamawa State. Chief Nduka Eya, a former Secretary General of Ohaneze Ndigbo and a supposed Biafra war veteran has tasted the "national cake" and has forgotten the reason he was part of those that stood up against Yakubu Gowon.

It is appalling as a veteran he is against the age grade of those involved in the agitation for restoration of Biafra. I humbly ask him; How old was he and most Biafran soldiers when they took up arms to protect themselves and their fatherland from extermination? Only if his senility will allow him to reason and talk about the issues been raised and not the age grade of the agitators. Chief Tahil Ochi the President of Enugu Unity Forum (EUF) and Chief Chekwas Okorie of APGA also spoke but with both sides of their mouth, showing clearly their attitude of greed and cowardice.  I want Tahil Ochi to specifically point out where the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu have acted against the constitution in exercising their rights as indigenous people to self-determination? I appeal to him to get enlightened on issues bothering on self-determination as related to universal law before he talks about treasonable offenses.

Chekwas Okorie in an effort to appease Buhari advocated for more time for him but has forgotten so soon how his proposal for "peaceful means of breakup" to be ingrained in the Nigeria constitution was wholly rejected in the last National Conference and its final report in the dustbin of Aso Rock. Finally, I want to address other Igbo person(s) that wish to remain in Nigeria and those that may want to use the cause of Biafra to seek relevance in future that they are not the first and will not be the last to disassociate themselves, Men like Ukpabi Asika and Nnamdi Azikiwe did same and are dead but the Spirit of Biafra is still as strong as ever.

The atrocities against Biafrans in Nigeria

The atrocities against Biafrans in Nigeria
By Chima Onyekachi
(For Family Writers)

Though Biafrans have developed thick skin to incessant threats, intimidation and molestation melted out to them in their sojourns outside Biafraland especially those in the Northern and Western areas of Nigeria. But it is pertinent that their future generation should not be made to undergo such inhuman treatment because of their natural zeal for hard work and success. I want to inform Biafrans that no matter how they try to assimilate with the Oduduwas' and Arewas' they shall never be trusted and accepted wholly. In Lagos where Biafrans are largely domiciled, they have been publicly asked to leave by the indigenes and were threatened with drowning by the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu because they wanted to exercise their right to vote a candidate of their choice in the last governorship poll.

Some got deported by former governor Raji Fashola who is poise to become a member of cabinet in Buhari's government. In Ondo state, the issue is same where the Deji of Akure Oba Aladelusi Aladetoyinbo has banned the title of "Eze Ndi Igbo" in the state and had the so called Igbo leader flogged by Yoruba youths and his followers chased away from the Oba's palace. The exorbitant rents and taxes imposed on Biafrans all over Yoruba land has caused tension in Ekiti State where Biafrans were forced to pay ten times higher than what was agreed earlier with the state government.

The atrocities against Biafrans in Northern Nigeria are worst and frequent as ever. The unwarranted killings of Biafrans to justify their Islamic faith have continued unabated and have never been investigated. The recurrent bombings in Markets, motor parks and churches in Northern Nigeria have Biafrans as the most casualty and they are left without compensation or rehabilitation. The rate of wickedness against Biafrans is unfathomable especially those hidden from the public. What needs to be done to Biafrans before they realize it is time to locate their roots and find safety? I want to tell Biafrans wherever they are especially those in Oduduwa and Arewa land that the spirit of Biafra is gathering her people and the enemies around them is gearing to cause havoc and inflict pain upon them. They have no excuses to remain permanently in their place of sojourn.

It is time to begin to relocate the bulk of their business and family members to Biafraland which will be more accommodating and secured for them. For those worried about their landed properties, I want to inform them that we are in the year 2015 and not 1970 when Biafran properties were coveted and stolen. Under international law, their properties are secured and shall not be tampered with. The United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Right Article 17 states: (1) everyone has the right to own property alone as well as in association with others. (2) No one shall be arbitrary deprived of his property. I also want to inform Biafrans that Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is exploring every peaceful means of restoring the sovereign state of Biafra as recognized by the United Nations charter on right of indigenous people to self-determination, and should ignore every misinformation emanating from Nigeria mass media about the struggle. Biafrans should also be aware of the lawlessness and crude nature of Nigeria government on the fundamental rights of human and must remain resolute to stand against every subjugation failure to do so will result in a systematic subjugation and extermination of the Indigenous People of Biafra.

We are aware of the move by Nigeria gov. to lobby some Biafran elders ---IPOB ITSEKIRI YOUTH WING.

We are Biafrans and wish to state categorically that we are aware of the restoration of Biafra which we the people of Itsekiri maximally support. Northern people of Arewa support Boko haram how much more we supporting a lawful agitation by our people to be free, since after the war, Itsekiri were made slaves, marginalized and subjugated and hence Pa Johnson gave us no reason no conviction to abandon our quest for freedom we state as follows.

Pa Johnson did not talk in interest of Itsekiri people but on his own suspicious accord. We suffer the same fate as our Igbo speaking Biafrans where few people said to be leaders conspire with power against the wish of the people, they have turned from peoples' leader to political jobbers who fights for their interest than the interest of the people. We the Itsekiri people are marginalized and treated as second class citizens who have not been addressed; we have no future, hope or stake in Nigeria and so discredit and reject the anti-people statement by Pa Johnson.

We are aware of the move by Nigeria to lobby or bribe few people claimed to be leaders in different parts of Biafra land to make statements against Biafra restoration without consulting the people neither a statement that represents the entire wish of the people which we saw in Enugu as well. Its gross dishonour coming from Pa Johnson to our heroe's ideology major general Philip Effiong who where ever he is will be happy we carried on where he stopped and make Biafra of his dream come true, mentioning his name there is dishonor.

It is a huge disappointment from Pa Johnson to the people of Itsekiri that when yorubas who have gotten much from Nigeria without being marginalized are clamoring for Oduduwa republic hence Nigeria is a failed states, we the people of Itshekiri that are second class and marginalized are receiving anti-people statement from Pa Johnson. We the people of Itsekiri therefore state categorically that Pa Johnson stands on his own with his Nigerian cohorts hence his statement does not represent the wish and goodwill of Itsekiri people. We call on all Biafrans to be strong as we are solidly behind the quest for our dear country, the people of Itsekiri stand tall to say time has passed when few people for their interest destroyed the future of the people.

Biafra: Like AREWA And OPC, Radio Biafra Is About Getting A Listening Ear

The simultaneous protests by large numbers of people in about three states today, over the arrest and detention of Nnamdi Kanu of the pirate station, Radio Biafra, should be a source of concern to the Nigerian authorities.

I have monitored the reports of the protests in Delta, Anambra and Port-Harcourt and from the pictures I saw, the crowd of protesters came out in large numbers. They call themselves the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra and see Kanu as a hero of sorts.

I have never listened to Radio Biafra and don’t know anything of what they broadcast but a few snippets of online reports I have read about the station show that the content in their broadcast is sometimes inflammatory and not too subtle. Considering that the station aims to sensitise the ‘Biafrans’ about leaving the Nigerian union perhaps peacefully by referendum, it’s quite unwise to spew such vitriol.

But, Kanu and Radio Biafra have antecedents to draw from. There has been a few groups in the history of Nigeria which use secession as a tool for political negotiations and arm twisting.

There’s the Odua Peoples Congress which came to the fore in 1999 first as a firebrand movement which had many skirmishes with the police and threatened to secede from Nigeria with the Yoruba Nation until some sort of rapprochement was worked out by the government and they went into oblivion or rather passive participation in the polity of Nigeria.

The OPC at that time, was seen as the militant arm of the more diplomatic Yoruba groups; Afenifere et al.

There was the Ijaw National Congress which sparked off the fight for resource control in the Niger Delta States and perhaps was in sync with the militant Egbesu groups before the more streamlined MEND came to the fore to fight it’s cause. That fight got the Niger Delta the Presidency, somewhat.

The Arewa Elders and Arewa Consultative Forum have used threats of secession too to get what they want from the government. Even though their own call for secession was more out of exasperation at losing power at the centre for years more than an aggrieved action to leave the union, they still got what they agitated for.

In the case of these Biafran movements, MASSOB and this new IPOB, with Radio Biafra being the information arm, their demands for secession may be seen as being extreme but the vehemence of their demands are not on anyway finding resonance with the people of the South East, so far. By my own observations, the agitation for a Biafran Republic by these groups seem like a symbolic agitation and not a wholly embraced cause.

In the case of the Odua people and the Niger Deltans, the calls for secession were embraced by the regions in almost total support which made the authorities sit up to negotiate. I don’t see that huge groundswell of support in this Biafra cause.

But all that could change with the arrest and intended prosecution of Nnamdi Kanu.

I believe the way the arrest provoked international attention with influential international news media such as Fox News and Reuters among others, giving it a bit of coverage , must have rattled the authorities. And the protests today too must be making them sit up to the reality that there might be something being overlooked in this Biafra cause.

I do not think a Biafra would secede or even succeed and even if it did, it would be only about 5 present states in the South East and a total number of about 40 or 50 million people in a landlocked expanse of land.

I do not think an Oduduwa Republic would secede or even succeed on its own either if it did with its 6 present states in the South West and a population of about 50 million.
Neither would a Niger Delta or South South Republic manage a country on its own with the present scheme of things.

I do not think a Middle Belt would secede or stand on its own.

And I do not think an Arewa Republic, made up of about 10 states in the North East and North West would stand on its own without the oil flow from the Niger Delta area. ( And that’s the hard fact, in my opinion).

What would succeed would be a robust negotiation of how to live together in this union. The 2014 National Conference had the perfect blueprint.

I was at that conference as an archiver, documentarist and chronicler and I can vouch for that final paper as the real solution to the nation ‘s political problems.

The selfish ambitions of the APC ( and I make no bones in saying this) and it’s quest to wrest power at all costs has truncated that Conference. Bola Tinubu, who before the conference, was screaming for true federalism is now mute because of a realised ambition of putting his men at the centre of power in an unwieldy structure which would not promote true federalism in the end.

President Buhari never believed in federalism; if he even knows what it means. His outlook has always been unitary and after all said and done, I’m convinced he’s still an Arewa Child and belongs certainly to some people!

If a Buhari decides to revisit the 2014 Conference Report and implement it, perhaps I would change my opinion.

And so, the likes of Nnamdi Kanu and other regional ethnic groups will keep springing up to fight for whatever their causes are.

Such stirrings would cause a storm if the negotiating table is not brought out soon.

Biafra: Radio Biafra – The Quest Is A Right, The Rhetoric Is A Crime

I am saying this because I have loads of Igbo friends, kins, cousins, and many other relatives who are happy married to the good people of the South East of Nigeria.

I lived in Owerri, capital of Imo State as Bureau Chief for The Punch for close to two years. My father is Ibibio from Akwa Ibom, my mother is Ishan from Edo State. I have lived in some of the best nations in the world, and I still live in one today.

I’m not an irredentist, tribal or ethnic jingoist. I am 1000% for self determination.

The Biafra cause is just. It is guaranteed by United Nations Charter. Nobody can force a people to belong to an association that they don’t want to belong.

I tell my close friends about the ‘1966’ mistake, I am actually working on a book with the title. If other ethnic groups in Nigeria had taken the bold step that the Igbos did with Biafra, we won’t be in this chicken republic called Nigeria today. Nigeria is a fraud. Look at our country, look every strata, from appointments to admissions. Only a person with cerebral palsy won’t get it. So, I get it!

Lord Lugard did what he had to do in 1914. If you check the remarks of oligarchs from 1960, you would agree.

I recall my first experience with Radio Biafra. I was waiting for my driver to me to the airport, as I was flipping through radio channels on my TV, I came cross the pirate radio. Though I was excited by what I heard, I was also troubled at Nnamdi Kanu’s rhetoric.
In that broadcast he said, “Any Igbo who pays tithes in a Yoruba church is a bastard and must be eliminated.” I also heard him say, “If you are an Igbo Muslim, leave the East or we hunt you down, and get you killed!”

I do agree that the concept of Biafra is what we need to inspire action to change Nigeria. But, in as much as I love the idea of freedom and self determination, I reject inciting people to murder.

The hideous role Rwanda’s Radio Mille Colline in the genocide that claimed more than 1 million ethnic minorities in the country is still fresh in our memories.

The United Nations that guarantees our right to self determination also abhors incitement to murder, which falls under crimes against humanity.

I don’t hate Igbos. I also hate the notion that any Igbo who disagrees with Kanu’s methods is “a bastard”. We must learn to present our points. We must not be moved by what some deranged bigots from the North are saying about Igbos or other ethnic groups in the South. By all means, stick to your narrative. But, we must pursue our causes with decorum and respect for the law.

Nde, wo…

Beware of Another Civil war, US report warns Nigeria beams up satellite on illegal northern arms importation.

Beware of Another Civil war, US report warns Nigeria beams up satellite on illegal northern arms importation.

A new security report entitled "Nigerian Unity in the Balance" authored for the United States Army War College has, again, warned Nigerian leaders to beware of another civil war or an outright break-up following what it called ongoing divisive trends in the country. The report comes in the shadow of recent discoveries and interception of arms and ammunition in some parts of northern Nigeria.

This development has raised fears and alarm in security and southern political circles as to the goals of the forces behind the smuggling of arms. While similar arm discoveries had happened in some southern states in recent past, the frequency of such discoveries in the North in recent days has reportedly increased the level of intelligence shadowing and surveillance in the area.

The US Army report released in June this year by the Strategic Studies Institute of War College was written by two former American servicemen, Gerald McLaughlin and Clarence J. Bouchat. McLaughlin is a graduate of the U.S. Army War College while Bouchat is also an adjunct professor at the U.S. Army War College (USAWC).

The 103-page report, whose foreword was written by the Director, Strategic Studies, Institute and U.S. Army War College Press, Professor Douglas Lovelace, observed that divisive forces were waxing stronger than uniting forces in Nigeria, warning that unless this was reversed, Nigeria`s existence could be jeopardised. According to the report, “Parochial interests created by religious, cultural, ethnic, economic, regional, and political secessionist tendencies are endemic in Nigeria. Under such stresses, Nigerian unity may fail.

“Should Nigeria’s leaders mismanage the political economy and reinforce centrifugal forces in Nigeria, the breaks to create autonomous regions or independent countries would likely occur along its previously identified fault lines,” the report warned. “Having already experienced one brutal civil war, Nigeria is at risk for a recurrence of conflict or dissolution, especially since some of the underpinning motivations of the war remain unresolved," the report observed, detailing many fault lines speeding up disintegrative tendencies in the country.

“Indeed, East Timor, Eritrea, Croatia, and Somaliland indicate that the weakest point of failing states is along colonial borders. Of more interest for Nigerian unity is that this may also occur between regions separately administered by a common colonial power, as occurred between Malaysia and Singapore, and North and South Sudan, where differences proved irreconcilable after the departure of British administration. At least, some of the resulting regions and states of a possible Nigerian devolution may divide along such internal lines”, the report projected.

While conceding that Nigeria’s fate is primarily in the hands of Nigerians, the report noted that such could be positively affected by actions of the US, adding that “Nigeria’s future is in balance and the United States should help tip the scales.” The report particularly warned that religious differences were taking the centre-stage in the emerging conflict situation in the country, disputing repeated reports that economic reasons were to blame for the insurgency and other conflicts in the country.

The Strategic Studies Institute (SSI) is part of the U.S. Army War College and is the strategic-level study agent for issues related to national security and military strategy with emphasis on geostrategic analysis.

Meanwhile, as insurgency remains a major headache in the Northeastern part of the country, with the growing cases of arms stockpile in the North-West states giving security analysts sleepless nights, especially as clues with regards to the motives of the masterminds remaining yet unclear. As of the time of filing this report, security agencies are reportedly focusing on both local and external sources in their bid to unravel the sudden surge in the trafficking menace.

Sunday Tribune was told that the initial suspicion indicate that the importation of arms was due to transnational islamist terrorists arming local jihadists, as well as using Nigeria as a transit route in the Sahel arms and related smuggling trade. This line of thought appeared to be the main preoccupation of the security agencies for sometime until in the last one month when political motivation reportedly entered the review process.

While analysts are yet to find direct linkage between political actors and the arm storage and smuggling, there are fears that threats from key leaders suggest a zone preparing for war depending on the outcome of the 2015 race. An insider told Sunday Tribune that the intensity of arms stockpiles correlates with the heightening of tension and mounting attacks on the presidency by political opposition and political dissenters within the ruling party.

It will be recalled that the arms cache found in Kano is still a mystery despite the ongoing prosecution of the Lebanese involved in the entire saga. The security agencies are also at a loss over what alleged Hezbollah Shiite agents will be doing with the Sunni-led Boko Haramists on the arms stockpile. Boko Haram is said to belong to the Sunni school of Islam, attributing a link between them and the Lebanese under trial over the arms cache is now proving very difficult among intelligence analysts in the country. Though it is being suggested that the Shiite group could have its own separate mission in the country.

The Kano arms discovery, therefore, is reported to have given rise to many theories, one of such is the possibility of  a non-religious involvement, with political undertone being the chief reason. This theory is believed to have gained ground after the Zamfara State government got embroiled in an arms importation controversy, claiming it wanted to arm vigilante groups  in the state. The way and manner the state government imported the arms allegedly without police approval has since become a subject of investigation which is said to be attracting attention of many within the security circles.

A security official confessed under the condition of anonymity that importation of arms without prior approval is a violation of the law. Said he: “for a state government to have done that, it is a matter to be taken seriously.”

Though the Zamfara State government has since justified its action on the  need to combat criminal gangs operating freely in the state, keen watchers of the 2015 drama, however, point out that arming vigilantes in the countdown to 2015 sent mixed signals. Many people believe that once Zamafara succeeds in its move, other state governments would follow suit, leading to proliferation of arms in the country and a potentially explosive electoral year in 2015.

While the controversy over Zamfara arms importation is still boiling, a tanker filled with  assorted arms and ammunition was impounded on the Kebbi-Zamafara axis with the source of the importation still unknown.  With hundreds of such tankers in remote parts of northwestern Nigeria, fears are spreading that there may be a deliberate program to acquire arms by some unknown elements in the northern parts of the country ahead of 2015 elections.

Four days after the tanker was impounded, another arms cache was discovered in the sleepy state of Jigawa with exchange of fire between security agencies and those described as Boko Haram operatives. Security analysts, however, faulted the reference to Boko Haram, as Jigawa has never witnessed any Boko Haram attack since the insurgency started. Others claimed the exchange of fire did not explain the owner of the arms or who masterminded their stockpile in the state.

Another source told Sunday Tribune of the fear being nursed in that sector, saying “the situation is scary. We cannot say for sure that all these arms are imported by islamists. We cannot prove that. We can also not prove that politicians are behind the caches of arms for electoral purposes. All what we know for sure is that there is an arms build-up in the core North,” a security official, said.

While the real motive behind the huge arms stockpile is still under investigation by security agencies, the statement credited to the Chief of Staff to the President, Chief Mike Oghiadohme, warning against civil war is cited by other analysts to argue that the presidency already has more facts over security situation in the country and, particularly, about arms build-up in northern part of the country than it is letting out. Oghiadohme had called attention to the tragedy of the last civil war, warning that leaders and elders should beware of actions and utterances capable of plunging the nation into another conflict.

The arms build-up situation has become an open issue within the Nigerian military, which is battling insurgency in the North-East. Though the military is not ruling out political opportunism, it however suspects the Islamists to be behind the arms build-up, while the wider intelligence community are fingering political forces as being neck-deep in the menace.

Sagir Musa, spokesman of the Joint Task Force in Borno, while confirming the arms proliferation gave greater insight into the problem facing the North and the country as a whole in a recent statement on the issue.

Said he: “Nigeria’s borders are massive with hundreds of footpaths crisscrossing to neighboring countries of Cameroon, Chad and Niger with links to Mali, Libya and Sudan. From conservative estimates by locals, there are well over 250 footpaths from Damaturu/Maiduguri axis that link or lead direct to Cameroon, Chad or Niger. These paths, which are mostly unknown to security agencies, are unmanned, unprotected and have continued to serve as conveyor belts for arms and ammunition trafficking into Nigeria.

“It is disheartening and unfortunate that the “merchants of death” have since devised methods to beat security agencies at the borders, chief among them, through the footpaths. These methods include the use of camels, donkeys and cows to traffic arms, ammunition and drugs such as cocaine into Nigeria. The fact that the weapons are small, light and collapsible makes it easy to be concealed and moved on camels and donkeys’ backs in a specially crafted skin or thatched bags mainly meant for the illegal “expedition” undetected. Similarly, some cows and grains merchants in the North-East sub-region of the country device means of hiding cache of arms and ammunition in empty fuel tankers, vehicle engines and bags of grains.

“The “grains” are transported in large number via trucks, trailers, lorries and old model pickup vans and Jeeps with little attention given to them by security agents. The use of Jega-type of tricycles (KEKE-NAPEP) as well as camels, donkeys, and cows (moving in flocks) to deceive, hide and conveniently traffic arms in some parts of the North are ways hitherto unknown, not well known”, Musa noted.

He explained further that “the Libyan and Malian rebels are desperate to exchange arms for money to Boko Haram terrorists, their financiers and collaborators as the sect has since been affiliated to Al-Qaida in the Maghreb. This has added to the overwhelming challenge of the influx of illegal aliens, arms, ammunition and sophisticated IED materials into the country and an efficient and effective fight against terrorism,” Musa had stated.

Sunday Tribune was, however, told that the political angle is already taking the center stage of discreet investigation into the discoveries. Already, it was gathered that investigation into the Kano arms caches has been extended to foreign soil, while the security agencies are said to be mounting pressure to ensure that Zamfara vigilantes are not armed with weapons.

As the arms influx expands, the questions on the lips of keen security analysts are many. Who is preparing for war? Is the North becoming a Somalia? And is the South too secretly building up its own arms, and/or has not been undetected? Could the flexing of muscles by politicians be a subtle declaration of war over 2015?

Only a thorough investigation by the security agencies can provide the necessary answers.
